It would let people indicate that they agree with or like someone’s post without cluttering up the thread with replies that are just - which when threads are limited to 175 posts, would be quite helpful I think.

No it wouldn’t, it wouldn’t be a separate post. I’ve seen other forums where you can react to posts and it’s just a little bit at the bottom of a post saying “3 likes” or something like that.

Awesome idea!

I've been thinking the same thing about statuses too, i.e. to be able to "like" a status and send a notification to the profile owner, rather than just a generic wink or sending a message to tell them (which some people might be reluctant to in case it starts a message ping pong they'd rather avoid).

I'll start a new thread about it.
