If your recent sent and received messages from someone disappear, does it mean they deleted there profile?

Maybe but not necessarily. Site admin may have deleted them, for whatever reason. However if you do still have the sent and received messages and they have deleted their profile, their username will have been replaced with this - (user no longer on site). I have noticed this many times

I think that (UNLOS) only happens if you’ve saved the messages, if you haven’t they just disappear.

Yes that what I mean. If the recipient doesn't delete the messages then UNLOS shows at the top of the messages

That changed a long time ago, when someone leaves the site all sent and received messages go as well.

I think you might have misunderstood me. Just leaving them in your inbox isn’t saving them, you have to have clicked the button to save them in your saved folder. Then they’ll have UNLOS at the top. If you don’t save them, the messages (and the ones you sent to them) disappear.

No I didn't. I know what you meant about saving messages as I save them myself, on an off, for years. I was just giving you my reasoning behind it too

I have had my messages disappear randomly over time. Neither I nor the other person deleted the messages.
