Can we block people who are not verified from seeing our profile? We know you can stop them mailing you but we would like anyone that is not verified to not be able to see our profile.

Is there any way of doing this or is there plans for this feature becoming available any time in the future?

Thanks kat n kev x x

at the moment i think you'd have to go through the whole site listings and block each one individually as i've looked and there seems to be no option for what you want in the prefference's section

yes you can, go to the message filters bit under the my account page and there should be a section there to stop people who are not verified (either photo or by other user) from contacting you. Hope this helps

You can only block mails from unverified people, not stop them viewing your profile.

If there is strong demand, yes.

But that looks unlikely so you may be best off using existing facilities e.g. showing more private pics to friends only etc.

But this just isnt enough, especially as it a free site and takes all of 2 minutes to make an account. More privacy is needed IMO

Privacy is what you make it. Put less photos on your public page and more in your private list. It is all a matter of personal choice... you can choose what to show to the general public

Again.... if there is something on your profile that you are not happy to be publically seen, then surely it should not be there?

There is nothing on there we dont want anyone in the swinging community to see, but people who are not in the community who can easily get access to the site, then this can be a problem, which im sure anyone who is in the public eye in there community would agree with, the option is there to not have unverified or new members mail us, so dont see the problem with having the facility to have them not view your profile.

I thought anyone was allowed to answer any thread in the forums!!!

I best not give you my tuppence worth then and say that putting more of your pics in your private gallery, taking things off your profile you are not happy about people seeing and stopping people that are not logged in viewing your profile would all be a good idea if you are concerned about your privacy!

Sorry hun, think you took what i said the wrong way, when i asked if they where admin it wasn't a sarcy dig, it was actually a serious question, as there as been some confusion over weather DL are part of the admin team or not, which i might add iv still had no answer to from sj & mark, but ha ho.

We have taken parts from our profile off, because we dont want people that are not in the swinging community to see those parts, but we would keep them on our profile, in fact we want to keep them on our profile because we want people in the community to see them, and if we could stop people who are either new or not verified viewing our profile then we would feel securely enough to keep them on.

We just feel there is not enough protection to the profiles with the few current safe guards available to us.

O o O oo

Yourself is the best protection.

Only put on your profile what you don't mind strangers seeing as well as swingers.

There will always be people who register with this type of site just to have a nose, not everything is sinister.

As for Admin, we have been on sites were you don't even get an answer to a query never mind divulging information on how they run the site and why.

At the moment we only have on our profile what we dont mind anyone seeing, the point is there are easy ways of protecting our profiles better so we can put the things in our profile which we only want people in the swinging community to see, which at the moment we dont have IMO.

as for admin, i cant see anywhere where i have asked them to divulge any information about how or why they run the site? as far as i was aware this is a forum for site feedback/suggestions and that is what we are making... a suggestion.

I meant you not being happy that the Admin wouldn't answer your questions about who helps run their site.

Just me being nosey, can I ask why it is important to you? Is it just the lurkers who are not really swingers that you don't want to look at your profile?

As most probably know, we run a pub and although we keep our private life private with us running socials, some of our regular customers do know that the socials are for the swinging lifestyle, this in its self is not a problem and none know what site we use, but we like to be careful from anyone been too nosey and trying to find us.

Can see where the OP is coming from with this, we'd also imagine that if block facilities were intoduced something like the mail filters for the actual profiles, ie verified user only, only members with photos themselves can view others etc, that the majority would use them, and that they would be popular, even by the ones who are laughing at the very idea.

Personally speaking, we're happy to just keeping our face pics private, and only showing what we deem accepatable by our limits to the viewing public, however if certain filters were in place we'd no doubt probably use them

I've found you now, I'm a drinker in your pub and joined just to find you, even looked at your profile and didn't realise but that post right there give it away.

please note, this post with tongue in cheek.

It isn't a major problem for someone to become a verified member should they wish to do so.

So if this was introduced to the point that only verified members could view a profile, how secure would it be ?

Very secure indeed - well until the new member becomes a verified member, then it's back to how it was

At the end of the day, as has been suggested on this thread and numerous others in the past, if you don't want to risk comprimising your identity - don't place any sensitive information in the public domain.

That is the only cast iron way to be sure...

exactly, as soon as non verified people are stopped from viewing certain profiles then non verified people will become verified, simple enough to upload a verification pic, so it wont stop them, it will only slightly change the game.

It always makes me chuckle tbh how many people join sites such as this then start wanting all kinds of security measures put in place for their benefit in case they get caught out.

It's a bit like a jaywalker asking for a gaurantee that he won't be hit by a car

What is unreasonable about wanting security on (your words) 'a site such as this' ??

Is it not more like a jaywalker asking for a pelican crossing so he doesn't get hit by a car though?
