Message limit

Is there a daily limit on how many messages a user can send? There seem to be a lot of profiles stating that they've run out of messages...or is that just a get-out because they can't be arsed to reply to anyone?

There is a limit for sending messages out. In over 10 years of being here, we’ve never hit that.

Your new messages limit resets at Midnight, so it may have been an old status.

I've only hit it as a new user, when I was trying to reply to everyone who messaged me.

Oh god, I made that mistake too. I nearly left the site because of the stress! And yeah, they still reappear sometimes acting like we were talking just because I said no thanks.

Apparently some people send out hundreds a day it might be a limit so they can't. Who knows I haven't seen it in any rules or experienced it.
