Mr here.

As a developer, I love to see bang up to date feature, so maybe it’s not important to others,..

I would love to see the forum updated to be a bit more social media like, with features like:

1. Tag people

2. Subscribe to threads

3. Like (or other emoticon) posts by others (to avoid quoting to give a thumbs up!

4. Allow Unicode emoji (the ones on your phone keyboard)

5. Unlimited (or much larger limit) to thread length with pages.

Numbered in no particular order.

Anyone else feel this?

Oh bugger, I forgot probably the most important ones!

6. Edit your own posts

7. Delete your own posts.

Posts are responded to by others when there is a discussion . It would be non nonsensical to allow deletion.

I'm in favour of everything you've suggested. I'm sure I miss comments/conversation because I don't have time to scroll through threads on the off chance

Not too bothered about Emoji or Likes, but the ability to post photos in threads (even if only in set forums) would be great.

The forums are for reading what people have to say on a subject. How would a photo help ? I have seen forums elsewhere where some posters think posting an internet gif is making a contribution. Clearly that's absurd . Is that what you are proposing?

Obviously not. However there are many occasions where people start games on the forums, or challenges, or "tits out Tuesday" etc. These really don't work on the site the way it is right now. If there were one or two areas of the forums where photos were allowed then at least you'd know which places to avoid.

Thank you for clarifying .Photos have to be moderated so I assume you mean they could be selected from ones profile?

That would work - photos are already approved, and wouldn't place a huge strain on the servers as the file is already there.

6, You can edit in the first few minutes.

7, no I believe people should own what they post, not change it to throw a thread off or post something aggressive/nasty then change it.

I agree with all of this.

Deleting is already possible if done quickly, but I think editing should be allowed with the save time restrictions and if edited it should be marked as such, to stop people getting up to shenanigans.

It would also be great to get a notification if someone replied to one of your comments.

You got that around the wrong way.

They can delete within the first couple of mins, but not edit.

So I see no reason to not allow a time limited edit, as at the moment people just delete and repost (which is annoying to do and see)
