Hi Fab, as a lifelong cyclist i have seen a massive increase in other cyclists since lockdown, could we PLEASE have a cyclists page on the forum so maybe new and regular cyclist could contact new people and ride with each other locally...following safety guidelines

Why not just post on a regular basis here on the forum? I am interested in meeting and riding together, I use the Camel Trail here in Cornwall on a regular basis so get in touch, there are side trails for mountain biking too and it connects through to lots of off road routes.

While we are at it put one on for motorists that drive too close cut others up and drive at excessive speed dont give way too pedestrians and i could go on,

Think of it like this .....

You need to leave about 1.5 metres between you and the cyclist as you pass them.

That almost always means you need to move over the centre markings to do that.

That means you can only pass when the other lane is clear.

That means it's okay for the cyclists to be filling up the lane, because you're going to use the other one anyway.

That means you might arrive 50 or 60 seconds later at the next set of traffic lights!

The cunt in the van is getting pissed off because they are a cunt. They probably shout at a lot at the telly too.

All my bikes are still powered by the large lumb of biomass slumped on top of it

Would love to meet you at traffic lights . Crack on cycling through red light light only need to meet you once when I'm on a green light. You won't need to worry about any coloured lights after that.

Just finished the 30 in 30 challenge! Ride every day for 30 days back to back. Each ride must be a min of 10 miles or 1hr (no nipping round the block...lol) No upper limit.

I covered 756 miles through 30 days of the shittiest weather i can remember in many years of cycling!

Another go in the summer to try and crack the 1000 mile in 30 days

Bloody pest on the road always pulling dangerous manoeuvres trying to outrun slow moving vehicles. They should pull off to the side and let lorries and tractors past thereby protecting themselves, and oncoming motorists from a long exposure head on situation as slow moving vehicles take ages to overtake because a mamil has a carbon fibre push bike. Just a suggestion .. lol

There is no legal requirement for a cyclist to pay road tax, neither do you as it was abolished in the 1930's.

Road tax, or its correct name Vehicle Excise Duty (bit big for the BMW, Audi, Mercedes, 4x4, Van and golf drivers to understand). Is a duty placed on the emissions of your engine, a bicycle doesn't have an internal combustion engine, so doesn't need to pay road tax. Also from a legal viewpoint, the Road Traffic Act states, only motorised vehicles need to be taxed.

As for insurance. The road traffic act states again, only motorised vehicles have to have, the correct level of insurance cover. The hint is on the motorised bit.

Cyclists do pay for the upkeep of the roads, as that is taken from your council tax.

I need some advice am pretty much a fair weather cyclist but looking(probably next winter now) for indoor cycling in my bike can you buy indoor equipment so you don’t need to take off back wheel or change anything...basically just get on bike and ride?...all suggestions/recommendations welcome thanks

I used to use rollers, you sit the bike on them and ride, I had shit balance so had a frame made to help me.

Used to commute in all weather's. Have had to ensure hail, snow, torrential rain and occasional sun. Loved it though and was always quicker than a car.

Niw it's WFH so back to social rides and dealing with vehicles that think roads are solely for them. Consideration needed from everyone and things would be better.

Anyway, can't beat a good ride in the countryside (ooeeerr mrs)

Great idea.

It could however grow arms and legs. Cycling although only requires 2 wheels encompasses so many variants. Mountain biking, roadies, gravel, touring, recreational to name a few.

But definitely keen to get involved and chat with like minded people.
