I think that the verification part of this site is a excellent feature which we for one rely on heavily to out the time wasters.

Can I make a suggestion that we have negative feedback option available for people who clearly are false or who mess people around.

I'm not suggesting un moderated ability to post on peoples profile, as this could be abused. But if some kind of authorized feedback (like photos) could be left to indicate to other genuine people on this site when someone has clearly breached rules/etiquette/given someone the run around, or just been a idiot.

I understand this idea would need some careful thought and refinement to work, but there are other sites who already use this system.

I welcome other peoples thoughts and ideas on this topic and any site feedback would also be welcome

There's a REPORT link on every profile. We'll not have a negative feedback system because we've already tried it on another site of ours and it was universally a) pointless and b) hated.

I see. Is the report Link suitable for people who just mess people about/fail to turn up as arranged, or is it just for serious violations?

From a brief discussion i had in a chat room this morning it would seem some sort of feature is a popular topic, although i admit this one conversation isn't representative of the whole membership.

Also can i ask if the previous negative feedback for a feature of this sort was spread across all types of profiles I.e couples and singles? or was the figures scewed by a particular type of profile that makes up a majority of members, some of which would have a interest in not having negative feedback option built into the site?

There's an "arranged meet, didn't turn up" option to use to report people.

Re: Negative feedback. Bad actors simply re-joined, genuine people ended up with it and hated it. We experimented with all sorts of variations and thresholds e.g. supressing negatives if it was below a reasonable level but it just didn't work. Genuine people still got -ves because people leave them out of spite.
