Fully agree with this post....

Just re-instate the meets button.

We're all adults, so can make our own decisions about meeting.

Clubs are starting to open up and people are arranging meets again.

Think its time FAB allowed people to decide for themselves as to whether they want to start meeting again.

"Without the meets button we can't reach out to others for a social as easily. Members want that option back and we aren't been listened to "

Completely agree there. Most fabbers I know are very sensible and want to stay safe. I've been shielded since march. But feel comfortable enough to social meet with covid guidelines. But meets hard to arrange as the meets forum still blocked. I'm sure we all want to avoid a second wave, but social meets can only be advertised if the site removes the block.

Pubs may be open but you still have to socially distance from strangers. We have to wear face masks in shops too. I don't think it's safe just yet.

But if you can f**k me from 1-2 metres away I'm interested lol

Personally think paying for a service which i am not receiving any service . Would like to know where friends and people i find interesting are going to socially meet . As clubs are opening for this purpose it would be nice to know who maybe there . We are all adults and should be responsible enough to abide the rules of clubs and uk government. I don't think the website would be breaking any rules or guidelines by allowing people to say they are going and when they'll be there . Being the moral police on a swingers site is quite ironic. Please admin i emplore you to lift the meets ban

No one pays for a service on this site as it is free to join or use. You have the option of becoming a site supporter which has various extra benefits.

Those benefits have not altered, however admin kindly offered to refund any site supporter payments to those who felt unhappy.

Any adults will understand why the site is not promoting people meeting in these uncertain times.

Hi, is there any reason why the meets option couldn't be reinstated with either an option to SD meet, cam etc? Now that SD gatherings at public venues are acceptable, it would be good to be able to connect with others on the site. People don't spend 24hrs a day on here, so the chance that you'll virtually 'bump' into potential friends is much lower without the meet option. And isn't that the main objective of FAB? To allow like-minded people to connect?

It would be great to get some direct answers on the reasons for not reinstating the meets options, rather than statements directing us to the sites covid response.

Many thanks,

Moose

It isn't outdated, people can meet for socials as per the government guidelines. Those guidelines have not changed as of yet for people to meet for sex unless of course you can stay two metres away from the person while doing so

Somewhere Only We Know

Just as in any workplace, venue, or commercial property, government guidelines must be adhered to.

Masks are to be worn in shops and supermarkets, even with protective shielding in place.

There's obviously a reason for those measures to be enforced, which is to stop the spread of a fatal virus.

As soon as there's a bareback thread in the forums there is pandamonium with people for and against the act and the infection of others through bodily contact. That is peoples choices. The only difference with C-19 is the fact it can be an airborne ingested contagion.

Its just like safe sex. Some people will do it, some won't. The only difference with this virus is it's easier to pass on.

Fab are doing their part in looking after everyones safety.

I do think that displaying verificationson profiles should be relaxed, as well as club reviews available to be read by others.

Maybe the addition of other options to the verification procedure could help, such as, Met For Social Distanced Drinks. Or maybe, Just A Social Meet.

But as mentioned above, Fab have a duty of care to look after it's members and try to keep everyone safe.

Please don't reinstate the meets button. So many here seem not to understand that the pandemic is ongoing and that their individual choices have public consequences. It's about the community, not the individual.

Swinging is not a safe activity or one with justifiable risks at this time.

If we're all adults, let's all do our bit to get this mess over with by not doing anything unnecessarily risky.

Agree with you on the basis of swing meets , but social distanced " social meets " were all adults on here . Covid-19 is not going away anytime soon . Just as people can socialise in a pub and let there mates know they are going . Why not in a private forum can people not let others know. From what I've read and seen (silverliegh) clubs are being extremely responsible and proactive towards social distancing. Why shouldn't we be given an informed choice . If you don't want to go don't go . But at least you have the option to or not as the case maybe

Whilst I agree that we are all adults on here, I fully support admin's decision not to currently reinstate the meets section. Some adults won't respect the social distancing rules about meeting on here, thus spoiling it for the many who will abide by the rules. I for one am happy to meet again when all the restrictions have been lifted, be that next week or next year. I think admin have the right balance.

Surely it only shows who wrote a verification in this time, not that the meet took place in this period.

If meets page was available with just social option it would be abused and plenty would use it to advertise other meets dressed as a 'social'

No win either way, although agree with some comments such as forum pages and club pages for reviews or updates.

Unfortunately lot of people don't give a shit, even to the point where many seem to believe nurses and doctors are lying, even though they have seen it, carriers taking it everywhere, this is why the country is going in to lockdown again in areas, other countries took precautions straight away and lo and behold they are back up running, here people are "you can't tell me what to do how dare you" well go and kill people, I'm sure you will care if it's your family.

I'll probably get a forum ban for saying this but I personally feel that this sites "solidarity with the NHS" has been more or less virtual signalling. there has throughout this period been users constantly meeting/asking for meets and they've pretty much nothing done about it even though admin ask for this to be reported. I have even seen varifications under the guise "cam meet" worded as a physical meet which it most probably was. although I work in the health sector (not front-line) I do feel strongly about upholding physical distancing so we can perhaps contain this virus but if folk do wish to meet then treat them as adults and let them make their own mind up to do so.

People have been meeting, people have been messaging others asking for meets; people are gathering in huge numbers to celebrate / protest / party all over the country.

Whatever the site guidance, what ever the government guidance and whatever common sense says people will find a way round it.

So why bother debating it, just do what you want, people are getting round the law and the rules and nothing is done.

It seems to be if you agree with the law follow it, if you don't agree don't, enforcement is zero it seems now!

The shops and pubs around here seems to be well organised inside, but the streets between them are awful and masks are making people feel and act as if they are invincible.

"Maybe ownership could extend their customers' site support for a few weeks - because 'fit for purpose' and 'as described' isn't 100% of the site!

(not for myself I'm not a site supporter, again, thinking about others) "

you are not made to pay money, you CHOSE to spend money....

if you don't like the options that were taken away for the choice you made to spend the money, you were given the option of a refund!

if you didn't take the option of the refund, thats not really the sites fault....

"Could you not mail people?

So you are saying that people can get around a site ban, by simply emailing people?

Bit hypocritical when a site mod says its ok to bend the site rules. "

I am not sure how you come to that conclusion

To be clear, people said to ask people for social meets they need to use the meet button. I asked could they not just mail people instead.

Where am I encouraging people to break rules?

Again, without the meets button it means scrolling through endless accounts, sending endless messages or hoping someone sees your status update asking for a social.

It really limits how you can reach out to people.

We are allowed out to socialise, so that's what we are doing, while following government guidelines.

Why aren't we allowed to display verifcations from social meets again?

Possibly because a lot won't stop at being social meets.

That's a shame, but we shouldn't all have fab restricted because of those people, chances are they will be doing it without the meets button anyway. We can't police everyone's actions, and it shouldn't prevent verifcations been shown

christ it all sounds so babyish this, when at the end of the day, its all about keeping the consumer/customer happy and the business going!

Its not up to a website like this, to police anybodies behaviour...

Some clubs are open for socials - people should see those advertised.

Socially we can meet anyone we like and take responsibility on safety measures.

crikey this thread

Not quite true. Our site supporter ran out early in lock down and our extra "privaledges"ceased. No offer of extension or refund. We have been supporters for a number of years but will now just use the basic function to reach our extensive list of freinds

"Fully agree with this post....

Just re-instate the meets button.

We're all adults, so can make our own decisions about meeting.

Clubs are starting to open up and people are arranging meets again.

Think its time FAB allowed people to decide for themselves as to whether they want to start meeting again."

yep totally agree it seems that admin only care about the cash they're earning through the cam chats rather than removing the meets ban.

It's time they either removed it or have everyone a free hand without charges

"No one pays for a service on this site as it is free to join or use. You have the option of becoming a site supporter which has various extra benefits.

Those benefits have not altered, however admin kindly offered to refund any site supporter payments to those who felt unhappy.

Any adults will understand why the site is not promoting people meeting in these uncertain times.

Just out of curiosity - what method do they use for refunding, the same system as paying?

Does anybody know?

It's a private business, not a public service. The site owners clearly have a view about what they want to promote and will take their commercial chances on that position.

They've offered refunds to site supporters in recognition of the restriction in the services offered, which I think is fair enough.

To those who access the service for free frankly I can't see what they have to moan about.

Somewhere Only We Know

Fab may have had a loss of earnings with people prioritising their money during C-19, but not dangerously so.

The re-installation of the profile verifications and club reviews wouldn't disuade or persuade people to join, leave or site support. They are there as a guage for people to decide if certain people or clubs are for them to take things to a personal level.

It wouldn't change anything directly apart from seeing who was meeting during C-19 and which clubs were following guidelines, which would be information for everyone to take heed of and make their own judgement.

I can imagine, like all services, professional bodies and companies.. Its not a simple task and a huge responsibility to make changes at the level you want. As far as I can see, we are still guided by the government to only have bubbles with one other household??? Which would mean that condoning or encouraging multiple meets is still not quite as free or simple. Boo.

Admin.. Whatever you do you won't win every one's vote.

It's an adult site and adults can and need to make their own choices.

I could still meet n you not know about it.. Yet I could catch covid in tescos (other supermarkets n virsus are available).

Club site needs to be open..

And all other aspects of site.. If some is paying for something and not getting that's fraud...

Risks are around.

Crossing road is a risk.

Majority are not meeting even if fab says so. Because we are adults.

Guess I'm saying please consider.

Yes. I am going to sit outside a pub tomorrow afternoon for the first time since lockdown and I can assure you it will be strictly social distancing only and not progress to anything else.

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

The clubs section needs to be re-opened even if the Meets section rightly remains closed. Clubs have lost huge amounts of money and those that have been allowed to re-open within guidelines should be allowed to have members access their contact information.

Yes it's hard to escape the fact that this site is now ripping off supporters and also not trusting it's users to take personal responsibility for their actions.

And things have changed since 1st June.

Not renewing my subscription til this site sees sense.

The site is not ripping anyone off. Paying for Site support is not compulsory. Social distance guidance is the same as what it was in June.

Once Admin update the rules the site has set they will update us all
