Forum thread/post removal

There seems to be a bit of hassle around the forums at the moment, most of it coming from the same individuals!

However, it appears that admin can remove both individual posts and also complete threads, so can I ask why complete threads are removed when just the offending posts could be removed?

Yesterday I think, a seriously good thread which hadn't been hi-jacked by the 'joke-a-minute' mob, disappeared.

So I was disappointed, and if an offending post had been made wonder why the offending post(s) couldn't simply have been removed?

also noticed that if you question the goings on and the inconsistencies that happen regarding the rules and mods your thread goes missing too with no answer.

i think that its fair though when a topical thread, topical not tropical lol, is deleted when the subject is then changed to two users flirting via the board of or a few members then chatting about another member, friend or foe.

i guess though posts on the forums that are written in anger, no matter if they are in response to something wrote about you or not deserve to be taken down. guilty of that three times now

O o O oo

There are a few reasons why posts get removed or whole threads.

Some threads have so much bitchiness and point scoring on them that by the time you take all of them off there is only one or two posts left......then the same people who were bitching come back and do it a bit more so they end up getting deleted.

If the bitching and snide comments and side taking stops, then no posts or threads will be removed.......

Lately we seem to be having a spate of bash the mod threads or comments ....I just want to remind people that they are members also and are protected by the same rules as everyone else.

If you have a need to report a mod then please use the report link on their profile and it will go straight to the site owner.

Is it worth starting a thread on "why do we get our profiles removed",our pride and joy 6 yrs of being on the scene never bothering anyone profiles?

No it is'nt because i for one am having an absolute ball on the scene and a forum is a simple nice bit of added fun on here. For me anyway.

Keep it fun

Surely though, excessive or over zealous moderating just results in the forums becoming sterile and boring,as happened on another site.

That depends on what is classed as over zealous.

Well sometimes the odd 'heated debate' can be a good thing, you often see threads bemoaning the fact that at times the forums have become dull.

This is maybe because posters are loathe to post thir true feelings on a subject for fear of being suspended or banned for causing offence to someone.

We're all adults on here,or should be,and more than capable of standing up for ourselves if the debate becomes heated.

However there is a difference between heated debate and offensive, insulting behaviour.

Where the latter is concerned, this should not be tollerated and its up to the offended individuals to report it to the Mods.
