High time the site used mobile phone number authentication to confirm users are real before granting access to the site. It'd massively reduce the number of fake profiles that get created, giving more value to the site for all users. Repeat 'offenders' of fake accounts could be barred and, as as a secondary benefit, it'd allow admin to help agencies tasked with tracking illegal activity. It'd be a win for everyone.

Nothing - except it's too easy to fake, it's not mandatory and it requires human intervention.

Using a mobile number is automatic, storing a database of 'offending' numbers would stop people creating endless new profiles to dodge the system - and, I imagine, everyone would feel somewhat safer knowing a prospective meet could be located by the authorities if things went badly wrong.

It's my understanding there are numerous sites where you can generate disposable & temporary phone numbers

Admin do ask some new profiles to photo verify and restrict access until that's completed
