Friend requests can be easily ignored, I know this, but its annoying when they are sent without any initial contact. Have folks ever had a meet as a result of an unsolicited friend request?

Imho it would be nice, if being able to friend request was an option only once an initial message had been responded to.

This is of course negated by those folks who reply ‘thanks but no thanks’ and the request can still be ignored, deleted etc.

What do others think?

Its such a rude thing to do! I just leave them, don’t delete and then they can’t send another for a period of time. Alternatively accept it when they aren’t online, perve THEIR pics then delete as a friend

Never met after those friend requests...

This drives me mad, we even have it written on our profile but still get them. To me if that’s the effort they put into the chase, they aren’t offering enough to interest me, we just ignore but yes that would be a good idea, who knows though maybe some people like it

Good idea , maybe also an auto delete for those messages that haven’t been answered in three or four days .

They can always send again if their genuine.

I don’t prefer restrictions on friend requests as I meet people on clubs and send or being sent friend requests after the event without any text, to add eachother and keep in touch for any future arrangements.

This might make you cringe, but I mainly use my iPad / touch screen smart phone etc... there’s been more then few occasions where I accidentally touched wink or friend request - oh hum

I'd like to add my voice to the 'make it harder to send a request by accident' crew. It's true that the touch screen makes it very easy to do by accident and it's impossible to retract the request afterwards. Then you end up having to send a note apologising etc etc...

I only add as friends if I have met them, I currently have 224 friend invites waiting to be deleted but I’m just wondering how many the total will get to before I actually click on the icon to cancel the amount showing lol

Good idea.

Maybe fab could put a block option? When somebody tries to friend request if you have the block on they get a message this person or couple is not accepting friend requests.

The problem with a lot of friend requests is once you friend them you never hear from them again.

That can be done with a wink. On our experience it’s more a case of they want to perve over pics in the friends section.

The thing that makes us laugh is that single guys get slated by couples for doing things like that ........ yet couples can be just as bad ! In fact even when we have the filters set to allow single males to make contact, probably 1 in 3 friend requests without any previous contact are from “couples”. And a large percentage of those are couples profiles who are verified as being genuine couples.

Well as a Single Bloke. In my Weekly Phone Msg updates I get to my email, from here. I get notifications ( just like FB). I DONT Bother looking. And in my settings on here. I set it, that I NOT Into blokes. BUT STILL Get blokes in the 'WHO's Looked' Section. As yes I have a 3rd Leg. Do Y do I want to see someone else's. But I guess As the 80's Pop Group said "Curiosity Killed the Cat". ??

If you set your message filters to no single men they wouldn't show on "who's looked at me"

We've definitely done this in the past. Normally a quick message reminding them who we are accompanied by an invite.
