Increase in club entry fees?

When this is all over, we would glady pay a bit extra to get in if it goes some way to helping clubs recover. It could be optional, maybe £5 (£10 if you're flush!). It may not be popular with single guys as they pay more anyway. But many Swingers are in their 40's and 50's and not short of money anymore. Who's happy to dip into their pockets WHEN we get back clubbing?

I suspect that any club trying to recoup losses by upping their prices could actually face going out of business, especially if they hike prices for single men, who are already exploited by such places.

Yes, I understand that clubs charge women less, or even nothing at all, to encourage more to come along, but clubs will need to thnk smart when they can reopen

I think there are a lot of places / organisations / charities that will need loads of help from their patrons / customers / clients when this is all over.

Having been through this and hopefully coming out the other side I just hope that everyone remembers that the people who may have to put prices up are trying to survive, and not profiteer !

Maybe the price increases should be passed on to couples and females as couples get in for same price as a single guy so I think they should pay more now after all we are there for the same thing regardless of being single males

Going forward I'd hope lessons are learnt. Businesses that failed to support their staff. Pub chains that should have known better..... Let's socially distance ourselves from those businesses. Every pound unspent in a bad business is a pound that could be spent on swinging or set aside against the next global disaster.

If clubs need a boost of cash, as always it will need to box clever. Maybe have a scheme where you can pay an extra one off payment. Then receive a percentage off entry for the last 4 months of the year.

Have a fundraiser night, options are endless for this one. Raffle off some free entry tickets, raffle of male n female hosts (carefully worded) for the night.

I for one would be happy to support a worthy club in this way.

We can all help by attending well, when they re open. I totally get it, that after this crisis some may also be in a poor situation financially.

Good luck to all.

If I could afford to pay more to help my local club, I'd be more than happy to. But as is I can only afford to go to 2 events per month. I can see why it costs single males more for entry after seeing how waspy they can be.

Just like any other business out their in this difficult time they have to obey the rules and stick to it, they make enough profit as it is with out declaring what they actualy earn, i worked in clubs and know the truth no club tells tax payers what they charge and what theyve earned,

Not all clubs babe. Some of us reinvest, pay VAT, line the taxmans pocket and take a low wage because we do it for more than the money.

Reading a lot of comments on here over the last couple of weeks, I think I'll just give up now, closw the club and feck off somewhere warm when the flight ban lifts. I really don't know why we bother re-investing and offering a top notch club after reading some stuff on here.

Genuinely think all U.K. businesses are going to need all the help they can get to recover from this and that the public don’t revert back to as cheap as possible plus a bit more discount please. Or we’re all going to see monumental changes in our day to day lives, for the worse I might add as businesses are unable to recover. Most U.K. business out goings are sky high beyond most peoples understandings!

We do our events at 1 club only (QUEST) weekly, so yes I do need to let people who attend regularly on our guestlists know that the prices won’t be going up, because obviously if we put our prices up it will affect the club as we bring customers to the club and also it reassures our regulars that no prices will be changed, also we may not have the overheads of a club but we do have our own family & household overheads so it also affects us as event management/organisers as we get a wage

I hate to say it, because I really don't want any club to have to close permanently, but if prices go up I will definitely go less often. One or two places I regularly go to were/are at the limit of what I consider value for money as it was, let alone paying more.

If all prices everywhere will be going up, as had been suggested earlier in this post, I'm afraid that will make trips/visits to clubs even more of a luxury.

I would happily re-join clubs, paying the annual etc. membership fee to help, but it's the entry fee that's the killer.

Shops, pubs, clubs and anywhere else will charge what they need to in order to recoup what they have lost. Customers will speak with there feet and a business with no customers isn't a business for long.

Can I just say that I feel for all the club owners up and down the country and can’t begin to understand your state of minds at this time,

Speaking for ourselves, we aren’t regulars at our favourite club and wouldn’t mind an increase in entrance fee because it’s a luxury evening for us and we don’t do it as often as we would like so we totally get and welcome increase and would be fine with it. However I think the clubs will have to have a look at looking after their regulars with a loyalty scheme or something along those lines, it’s regular custom that keeps any business going.. especially on the road we we are going down x

Some pubs, clubs and restaurants will not re-open. It’s a fact. If everything has to “ go up” in price then people on limited income will prioritise, either put food on your child’s table or go to a club. New smaller clubs will open, people may have more house parties life will go on, slightly differently and we all have to accept it.

I totally agree with everything Townhouse have said. The investment they have made over the past year or so needs to be seen to be believed.

In some ways I hope that poor quality clubs who have failed to reinvest will go out of business leaving what money people have left to spend spread over a smaller number of clubs .

This is simply a profit optimisation problem, with different factors for each club.

Discount prices in some way to encourage attendance but potentially less profit per customer. Assume high demand maintains numbers and raise prices to increase profits.

Capacity of venue and pre-existing costs will limit these options. Reputation and geographical exclusivity may give scope for more robust pricing.

Each club will choose a strategy and then flex it as things develop if they are smart. The professionally managed clubs will survive. Be prepared for one or more phoenix's, clubs that go bankrupt and immediately burst back in to life under new ownership that on the ground looks like the old management.

It's a great sentiment and we would (with some reservations) support it.

We know some smaller clubs that will really struggle to stay open and if they do manage to we will be at the front of the queue.

However we know of some larger ones in Germany and other parts of Europe that have made very big money over the years and they should be able to look after themselves.

In the UK clubs are much smaller when compared to some of the European super clubs and will need all the support they can get.

As for price increases, that could work both ways. While I think there will be a lot of pent up demand when this is over. There will still be fear as well, and many will be too frightened to get so close to others.

I think a price increase would be fair.Every body in the uk has been hit hard. I would surely miss my local club closing down. The thought of attending when it's opening again is a sign of hope that this will end and bring people together again. Sometimes you cannot put a price on things that mean so much to so many people.x

If a single male pays £75 per year membership, £20 entrance fee and visits once a month.

would that work out @ about 85 pence per day per year ?

sounds good value to me.

And a club with 1,000 members gets £1500 a week to reinvest.

happy days for all.

Most swingers I have met are average Joe/Jo's. At present they will be struggling financially. After this spare money will be in short supply so luxuries like club nights will be put on the back burner. If clubs increase prices they will make the likelihood of people attending even less.

On the one hand I do agree that things will be hard and clubs will need to make their money back to survive.

On the other, as a single guy it already costs me £20-25 entrance, which is about as much as I can really justify for a night out. I would have to start thinking long and hard if that were to reach £30+ though, and would likely go less often.

"When this is all over, we would glady pay a bit extra to get in if it goes some way to helping clubs recover. It could be optional, maybe £5 (£10 if you're flush!). It may not be popular with single guys as they pay more anyway. But many Swingers are in their 40's and 50's and not short of money anymore. Who's happy to dip into their pockets WHEN we get back clubbing?"

In theory.

As a student with no income, I'd rather dip into your pockets

would that work out @ about 85 pence per day per year ?

sounds good value to me.

And a club with 1,000 members gets £1500 a week to reinvest.

happy days for all."

By the time you add in booze taxis fags accommodation it is quite a lot more than a normal night out I think....the point I think is the disparity between charges, single guys versus single ladies and couples...

The logic of all this is nonsense I think , do people think your local kebab shop or pub or supermarket is going to start asking to charge more to recover lost revenues due to this crisis....no way...what there will need to be in the future is higher taxes to fund the govt support programme which is fair enough as we will all contribute evenly according to our means.

If single guys are already paying £40 then the price increase should only affect everyone else whose paying less. Money will be tight for everyone and paying more than £40 will be unfair for single guys. Not all single guys go into a club with the mind to play ,some of us go for the social side as well as to meet up with friends but still pay the £40

You might do but I fear not many people will be doing that either. When your income takes a hit luxury items like going out are the first things that take a hit. Whether or not a club increases it's prices is moot point when there will be less people going out across the across the board. So sadly many clubs will most probably close apart from the smart ones, who are able to attract the people in as well as develop other revenue streams other than entry prices.

Because what you offer *is* top notch, and despite what some people say, you have a lot of members who really do appreciate what you do and the facilities you offer.

I know many of us won't mind paying more after this just to have our townhouse community back in action. Your pricing was more than reasonable before and it will be after, I'm sure. It'll just reflect the changing economy and I think most people know that's inevitable.

The reality is that swingers clubs have been charging low fees for a long time now and it’s about time they charged realistic money

The average cost for a couple is cheaper than

A hotel room

2 cinema tickets

A meal out for 2

2 packets of fags and a bottle of plonk

Entrance to a nightclub

A pair of jeans

A 10 mile taxi ride

So suck it up, prices will go up, why not lay off the fags or feeling the necessity to drink lots of alcohol on a club visit, why not drive instead of a taxi?

Those of you claiming it’s an expensive night out only make it so by the added expense YOU add.

Yes, but if the couples and singles didn’t turn up, your entertainment would be a bit a bit lacking wouldn’t it. The club would also be less attractive to some clients and get less trade. Its like turning up to a picnic and not bringing any food or drink yourself, then saying those that do bring supplies should be paying the same price. So just count yourself lucky that couples do turn up and let you have a play now and again.

Don't think for a minute that this unprecedented national debt won't affect all of us in some way, because it will! "

People will make their own financial/social decisions and cut their cloth accordingly. Market forces and the economic climate will be very changed come the end of the crisis and it will take a long time for everything to settle down. It will be a big storm to weather for everyone and there will be casualties, no doubt. Another big factor for some will be the less relaxed attitude to meeting in numbers, especially in such intimate environments. The full horror of what’s currently occurring is yet to develop as its early days still, so it will be a very interesting decade in many respects. A lot of human behaviour may be changed for the long term. Fortunately for clubs etc, the overriding urge for the thrill of novelty sex, especially amongst those who have already sampled it will still be a major factor and many will still avail themselves of it regardless of prices.

Will there always be a demand for clubs? Yes of course there will be.

Will all clubs survive this? No they won't.

Should the survivors put up entry fees to cover there losses? Maybe but they should be very careful about it as this whole mess is effecting almost everyone and a price rise may not go down well. It's does us good to remember that we aren't all called Branson and we live to a budget and socializing is part of that budget. I've heard it said many times and have said it myself that a night out at a club is cheap when compared with going out to the pub or a nightclub. This isn't exactly true unless you live very close to a club and now that some clubs have alcohol licensing that put the cost up even more. Then add the possibility of a hotel room, plus the fuel to get there in the in the first place then maybe a taxi from the hotel to the club and back again, not to mention clothes, cigarette's etc. When you take all this in to account you could be looking at anywhere from £100 up to £200 if not more for a night out, which is great if you do it once or twice a year but frequency of attendance like that won't keep a club going. Clubs need regular attendance they need you through the doors twice a month if not more and the only way to do that is to make the door fee acceptable because, hotel rooms aside, that's the biggest slice of the pie and more importantly it's the thing we look at and remember most. Proof of this are the complaints that are leveled at some clubs when they hike up door prices for certain nights such as £50 per couple on a normal Saturday suddenly become £100 if not more on New year's eve. Maybe the club is laying on extras, which are a nice touch, but 100% extra I think not.

In conclusion, people aren't stupid and we don't like being taken for a ride. As in all things it's a balance between greed and survival and the key is in the approach.

There will be many price rises once this is ove. The first we will all see is taxes, they will have to rise to pay for all the furloughed staff, support for self employed as well as recouping all the lost taxes from lower economic activity.

"Why pay more!

I could say more but I'll get booted off the forum and we can't have that now can we?! "

There are some ridiculous comments on here!

All the proper clubs like yours pay taxes, and are just like any other business, trying to give their customers a good product.

Club goers like ourselves are grateful that somebody puts the effort in, invests money and hopefully makes a good living out of providing us with somewhere to go.

Keep up the good work!

Anybody remember HIV / AIDs, gonorrhoea, syphilis, herpes ?

All of which are still with us. And a month ago the clubs were still attracting visitors despite the above diseases.

I'd suggest that a vaccine will become available later this year which will see off CV_19. And once that happens people will largely forget the problem.

It's human nature.

Then the clubs will be back to normal, with only HIV / AIDs, gonorrhoea, syphilis, herpes to worry about !

If when clubs re-open you think you are being ripped off by their entrance charges you have only two options;

1, stop going to clubs.

2, start your own club with a pricing structure which suits you.

Ranting at clubs to impose your vision of how their entrance fee should be will NOT influence them one jot.

They have a fine line to walk which involves earning enough money to support the club and pay all bills and improvements AND catering for the wishes of their clientele, which may well involve limiting the number of single guys.

Limiting can be done by selection or price.

i think that a lot of clubs will find the reality of having to put up the prices a little bit, or shutting up shop...

if that is the grim reality... as increases as passed on everyone (we are all in this together) then i don't people will have an issue...

it is going to be fine line a lot of clubs will have to tread...

you can think of it of having a choice between going to a club that is open (and that way having a choice) or a club closing (in which case you have no choice!)

Having read some posts recently I wonder if some clubs should apply for Charitable Status. No decent person wants to see any business fail, but it will be the most astutely ran businesses that survive. As they say, there’s no sentiment in business.

Taxes will increase, insurances will increase, transport costs will go up ... add into that the effects of Brexit, whenever that happens, and this country is in for a long period of economic difficulty.

Costs will go up for a lot of things. Clubs, like all businesses, will need to adjust to that

Maybe not for you but for some it most certainly is about the money and only the money. That's the world for you some people care and some don't.

Don't know what clubs you've been "

The answer is quite a few.

You could argue prices won't go up as with millions of unemployed and reduced wages demand will be down. Then again, knowing what an insatiable horny bunch we all are on here, by the time this is over we'll probably be queing at the door even if it means skipping dinner!

It'll just reflect the changing economy and I think most people know that's inevitable."

Kebab shops put up their prices - customers still want a kebab but can only afford 1 a month rather than 2

Clubs put up the prices - customers have mre more private meets.

Unlike other establishments, there are other places for people to meet.

I can only afford 1 or 2 club visits a month even though I'm a single lady so tend to only have to pay £10 entry, I could probably afford to pay £15 but it would depend on the club, if there are lots of single guys acting desperate then I would avoid that club. A few single guys act like because they have paid a high price to get in they should be guaranteed some action

Hence why we give preference to house parties over clubs. Don't get me wrong there are some top notch clubs out there but there are also some that are based on greed and when you see it it shows.

It’s the people that go to the clubs regularly that make a club what it is, people will go back to clubs if the clubs survive the shutdown. All the people that say clubs are greedy have no idea of what the profit margins are like and how tight it is that they actually stay open. Give the clubs a break and show them support!

This won’t happen - if it did it would just turn into a sausage fest

They could charge men less but then half the number of men they allow in. Or put a size benefit. The bigger their penis the less they pay That way there’s more quality and all together more fair

So why bother? Why on God’s earth even run a business that doesn’t turn out a decent profit? Who in their right mind slaves away, grafting, working their nuts off for next to nothing, for the benefit of what? To pay taxes ( which some of us do at 40% and more ) or pay hefty business rates or public liability insurance. It’s draining to read some of these some club statuses say how “ choca, full, fully booked” the clubs are but then come the virus the same clubs crying “ don’t know why we bother, etc” when times are tough. Get a grip, you make a living but if you didn’t plan for a rainy day well who is to blame? There’s more to running a club than cleaning out the hot tub, stocking the bar and disinfecting the sofas. Those who run a club as a proper business rather that a drop in centre for “mates” will survive. Too many SMEs fail for the same reason, they are run because of passion, as a hobby, as “ something to do” by people with very little business acumen. And as for those who need a club to “ socialise”, well there are alternatives. The best run clubs will survive. Those who have not been run as a proper business. Will sadly, not. And for those who depend on them, I feel sorry.

Single guy shouldn't be guaranteed as you crudely put it "a touch" regardless wether they pay £4 £40 or £400. Its attitudes and expectations like that which gives some single guys a bad reputation.

It may not be popular with single guys as they pay more anyway. But many Swingers are in their 40's and 50's and not short of money anymore. Who's happy to dip into their pockets WHEN we get back clubbing?"

No. If they hike up prices especially for guys. Yeah the simps will pay but I can see many just fucking it off especially us 20-mid 30s single guys.

"*close *"

Ok close. What I would subject would be a tip jar.

Remember most people have been forced out of work by the state and when things come back to normality. Possible club price hikes from any club may leave a sour taste and let's be honest most clubs will raise the cost for guys. All you clubs don't have the balls to equalise the price for female to male prices.

So a tip jar is better. Give people the option.

"Why pay more!

I could say more but I'll get booted off the forum and we can't have that now can we?! "

An interesting analogy. However as everyone knows, no means no. So what about all those single guys that paid the extra that night and didn't get a sandwich from the buffet you brought.

So your saying single guys pay to go to a club and as they pay more they are entitled to get something ??? We thought the entry price for a club was to use their facilities, the sexual encounter was something that you had to work at by talking to people and building up friendships . We find it strange that single guys complain about paying the price to get into club, and complain that couples and single ladies pay less, but we never hear them complain about public travel prices that OAP’s or Children pay less for exactly the same seat ????

Some of the comments show little appreciation and understanding of how this world will look once we exit one of the most dramatic periods in world history - as dramatic even as world wars as far as economic impact goes. Increasing prices is a fool hardy reaction and will not deliver more income. We’re all in this shit storm together, no one is unaffected. We genuinely feel for club owners who have lost their income in enterity, but then so have most paye workers and other business owners too - you are not alone. We should be thankful we have a social welfare system that will not see anyone starve or become totally deprived. There will no doubt be those who this affects more deeply. We read the comments from Townhouse with concern, such a lovely club and an owner who is passionate about what they do, its a great club and would be a loss to the swinger community of the NW and beyond. There are Govt measures in place to support that business and others. Taxes will not rise immediately, VAT rates will not be hiked, business rates will not be adjusted upwards. Clubs like Townhouse will have the same bitter pill and recalibration that the rest of British society has to swallow. The economy will need all of the stimulus it can get once we find a way to normality, taxing is an economic dampener and you can be certain it will NOT be an immediate reaction by national and local authorities. Long term we will all have to pay for the necessary policies from which we have all benefited and for the safety nets that have kept us safe and solvent. Equally as raising taxes wound be suicidak, Increasing club prices would be a foolhardy reaction too, totally counter intuitive to any economic behavioural rationale. In addition, aside from the economic difficulties, the swinging community will equally have to fight the fear amongst many to interface and share intimate moments with others. Open your doors and pray that the community feels safe and confident to return. Increase prices and take the attitude that you need to make up for lost income, such a club will be slated for an attitude that shows a lack of community appreciation and an attitude that they alone are an island and affected. We will all need to let our hair down once this is over and we hope that our local clubs will be around to provide the fulcrum for that debauchery: raising prices, expecting to make up for such a crazy and unparalleled economic shock, will absolutely be the wrong business decision. Tough times for all - not just a few!

Not at all, My reply was to the couple who posted supporting single guys paying more. They were the ones comparing it to going to a picnic, and eating someone else' sandwiches because you hadn't brought your own.

If as you point out you only pay to use the facilities, by that reckoni_g couples should pay more and single men or women pay the same.

I was pointing out that a lot of single guys pay the extra but often don't get to play. I wasn't suggesting they should get play as it is all down to choice.

But lets look at the travel analogy you post. Can you imagine the uproar if the train companies started saying eg single guys and couples pay £10 for the fare. However single females must pay £20!

The price I pay is for club entry, I enjoy the social side and if any play was to take place its a bonus.

Since many on here say they would be happy to pay more, so would if we all shared the same burden. Say £30 entrance fee for women, couples and men.

Whose in favour besides there shouldn't be a gendered difference in entrance pay anyway. We're allswingers

That's fine. But you'll either see a queue of single guys waiting to get in as there will be too many. You might be a part of that queue and it'll be a toss up if you get in or not

Or you'll see fewer single ladies and couples going who are bored of the walking dead spoiling it for the single guy demographic.

Supply and demand. There's a hundred other guys who will pay the cost whatever it is for every one who doesn't."

"Why pay more!

I could say more but I'll get booted off the forum and we can't have that now can we?! "

. Don’t make me come over there lady as if we are all going to let you bugger off and leave us fending for ourselves, imagine the carnage you’ll be back, and we and all your dedicated followers of passion and friendship and down right filth will be right by your side doing whatever it takes to keep you going as for the negative keyboard warriors well let them vote with their feet, chances are they’ve never been and had no intention of, no loss now where did you say you keep your passport
