I’m considering visiting one of the clubs around Manchester. I desperately do not want to be seen as some sort of dirty old man and am worried about etiquette from undressing, through to any involvement - so very nervous about going as a single guy.

I know it is asking too much for a Woman, or even a couple to go with me.... so any tips for a newbie?

I visited one for the first time on sunday, the staff were very helpful and chatty, answered all of my questions about ettique, clothes and behaviour etc, so I'd recommend speaking to the club

That sounds good. I’m generally a confident person - but don’t like making a fool of myself.

That sounds good - I’m very busy with my work, so looking for some ‘de-stressing’ in my limited leisure time.

Unlikely to find a 1-2-1 meet on here, so reconsidering clubs - even if all I get is some enjoyable voyeurism.

What's wrong with going with another bloke? Surely going with someone who has experienced what you have and can guide and advise you is the best option?

I don’t know any other blokes round here, I’m working a long-term contract away from home. I would be very awkward asking another bloke to escort me.

Spend a lot of time in the social areas - bar, hot tub, smoking area (even if you don't smoke) - and just be sociable. Don't be scared to approach people to talk. Say you're new and nervous, and join in whatever conversation is going on.

Don't expect to play on your first visit (or any visit, really. It's best to see play as a welcome bonus to a good social night out). Don't get d*unk. When you do venture into the play areas, stay respectful. Watch how other people behave, and look at how they're treated by others. You'll soon learn what sort of behaviour is welcome and what is not.

Check out the club section here on FAB for the area that you're willing to travel to.

Read the reviews, especially those of other single guys. Then check out the club website, everything you need to know should be on there, especially all details for single males. If everything you need to know isn't on there, either opt for another club or contact the club directly.

Lots of clubs have Midweek events on just make sure you know the rules for attendance before you actually head there.

Do your homework, choose wisely and you'll have a great night, even if it's just socializing with other like minded adults.

You don't know any women or couples either but you went ahead and asked. It seems you've already sexualised the event by excluding men. Just because you go with a man doesn't mean you'll end up getting bummed.

It'll depend on the club, but generally yes. Check their website before you go.
