Obviously you can’t take recording devices in to clubs, and rightly so. That being the case, are any of the “Swingers Club” videos on sites like Youporn or whatever a good representation of what goes on behind those doors?

We are both tempted, but sort of nervous too, we’d like to “do some research” but is it possible?

Trust me - hitting your first swingers clubs is nervous! I went on my own & knew no-one in the club.

Just explain to the host that it’s your first time ever at any club & they’ll more than likely make you feel very welcoming’

Most important bit is to socialise! Talk talk talk - personal experience anyway. The night will start at like 9-10. It’s a bit of socialising & drinking to start with and then it just starts getting loose from there!

You can play with each other, play with couples just watch. It’s entirely your choice! Go & have fun

Forget about online porn, there is no substitution for going and seeing first hand. It may or may not be what you expect but pick a good club and you'll have a great time either way.

Our advice would be to look for those who say they visit clubs and have verifications from guests they met at clubs near you.

Tell them straight that you’re wanting to go to one but nervous as what to expect and expected of you and hopefully plan to meet them there so you have someone to talk to that you’ve already broken the ice with.

You will be pleasantly surprised how laid back and friendly people attending are. Personally we prefer couples only nights because we’ve found that quite a few single guys at clubs can be a bit intrusive and stalk any couples wandering off to find a room.

No one is watching you to see if you are going to play, like it’s something expected of you to prove that you’re not fake. In fact quite a few regulars at clubs don’t often play. They just love the friendly atmosphere of a social get together with friends and meeting friendly new faces. Definitely safer than your average nightclub with d*unk idiots. If you think of it as dressing up to go to a party for grown up adults, you can’t go far wrong.

It’s a great night out and no one is locking the door to stop anyone leaving at any time.

Hope you go for it and realise they are far from scary places. Still gives us excited butterflies when we go, but we know we are safe because any unwanted attention or harassment and they are booted straight out, no questions, which is why it very very rarely comes to that, especially at couples nights.

The best place to do your 'research' is definitely at the club you're thinking of going to. You can just go there to see what it's like - there's no obligation to do anything.

Real clubs have a wide variety of people. All shapes, sizes, and ages. There isn't really a free-for-all orgy. You might get one or two small groups on a bed, and a lot more standing around watching (and wanking).

Real clubs have a range of different rooms: open public ones with a big bed should that orgy happen, lockable rooms so only the people you invite can get close, and completely private rooms.

And real clubs are not just about sex. There is a fair amount of that, but there's a lot of socialising too. The club I go to has a "no sex in the bar or hot tub" rule (there's not even nudity in the bar). If you don't venture into the play rooms, it's more like a pub with a relaxed dress code.

But definitely go and see for yourselves! They're really not scary once you're inside. And you can have a lot of fun there. Even make some new friends.

The Vanilla Alternative would be one of your more local clubs and there you could stay in the bar and snug areas just having a drink or chatting with other like-minded people, all without getting undressed. Alternatively you could strip off and relax in the massive hot tub where again you could be just chatting with others.

As the evening progresses, so does the fun in the hot tub as well as on the surrounding play beds and the other play areas of the club. But what you get involved with is entirely up to you. No pressure, no expectation, just a laid back social experience doing whatever you think is right at that particular time.

Yes things do get quite intense at times but if that what visitors want, then that's fine.

There is also some fetish equipment if that's what you are into although you have to bring any straps, whips or other bits and pieces, as the club cannot supply any of these as they are classed as "items of torture" under the club's insurance!

Thanks for all this info - I'm at the same stage as the OP on that I'm tempted to go to a club but am a bit nervous.

Mainly because I can be shy around new people but it manifests itself as my being stand-off ish, which isn't going to help with the socialising....

See what you say. Sometimes an unwillingness to venture in/out on your own holds folk back, when all it takes is a little courage/determination. I do understand as I find it difficult to "break the ice".

We rang the club up first and asked some questions, then we actually had a drive to the club, parked up and asked some more questions at the reception. It was a sort of step along the way before actually going in and even though we were only in the reception area it was interesting to see the mix of people going in and out of the premises and seeing how “normal” they all seemed which made going through the door on our first visit a bit easier.
