Bristol Garden Spa - week days

So we're planning to visit Brighton & the BGS on a week day - what's you experience been like with people and the atmos.

During the week is very random. Not likely to be busy you might even be alone.

Fridays are likely to be busier.

Atmosphere obviously depends on numbers.

Just remember that it's a naturist spa, no play at all apart from in the rest rooms.

thanks for posting, we're going for the Spa, but have had some mixed reviews from peep's telling us that it can be male heavy and not in a naturist way!)

I believe sat and Sunday are couples only after 5pm. The single guys are asked to leave by that time.

It can be you will get a few follow you around from each thing you use and they like to do laps just aimlessly walking round hoping to catch a glance. Apart from that it’s really worth the money.

We personally find it funny watching the men walk round in circles up to the rest rooms then back down for more laps.

It can be, clearly tell them no. If they persist to annoy you, speak to the staff. They will speak to the men and kick them out if they don't stop it.

You might find it difficult to play upstairs, due to having lots of watchers.

We go at the weekend, spa all afternoon then at 6pm when it's couples only, we play upstairs. We have been during the week and only had a bit of hassle which stopped once we had words.

Totally agree with that, I kissed my partner while in the Jacuzzi, nothing more than that and she shouted at us . I know there are rules but it totally ruined any relaxation for us , and vowed never again

Pretty much echo most of the comments above, particularly around the atmosphere, attendance and behaviour during the week days.

Although it is possibly a bit extreme, I personally don't have a problem with the rule about keeping all 'amorous activity' to a certain area upstairs. To be fair, BGHS is a naturist spa first and foremost and not really anything to do with swinging/sex at all, except a blind eye is turned to whatever is done in the 'rest' rooms. They do explicitly state their policy on that when you get a tour as first timers and in some areas they even have signs up. I wouldn't even mind betting they're probably not too happy about being listed and discussed on this site.

Just for the OP's benefit, pretty much any kind of physical interaction counts as 'amorous activity', including kissing, holding hands, cuddling etc. All of that (and more) has to take place in the 'rest' rooms upstairs. They do have staff walking around the spa areas quite frequently doing their various maintenance checks etc.

We've been attending bghs for the past 15 years and have never had a problem. You just have to accept and abide by the rules. It's a spa not a swingers club.

Silverleigh is our preference for club choice although bghs facility's are excellent just a totally different vibe

We'd agree... unfriendly, and I think the corporate attitude is single guys are the money spinners and they are encouraged. We complained about an extremely rude and pushy guy (called S a 'c***' because she told him to get lost) and would you believe it, we got thrown out for 'causing trouble'!

Our advice, go somewhere else.

It think that given BGHS is strictly couples only for several hours on BOTH weekend days (i.e the highest days of attendance), would indicate that it doesn't have an attitude of chasing the single guy cash cow. Most other places I know of only have one period a week where single guys are either restricted in numbers or excluded altogether.

Sorry to hear about the incident above, but in my experience and observation, the staff clamp down hard on people who misbehave and don't follow the rules, including expulsion/banning.

Again, BGHS is NOT a swingers club. It is a naturist spa that allows certain activities to go on in a designated area behind closed doors. I would honestly urge the OP to go and make their own minds up.

I really love BHGS it's not a swingers club it a relaxing naturist spa where we like to chill, the fact there is a nice area for some naughty relaxing is a great bonus, the staff have always been very friendly and helpful and the facilities are great, we have been both weekday day time and weekend eve and had a great time , meeting some really nice people everytime , would definitely recommend

Can only echo the good comments about BGHS.

If you expect it to be a swingers club, you’ll be disappointed.

It’s a great spa with the added advantage that it has a play area.

Go, enjoy the spa..

when you feel a bit sexy, head to the rest rooms, which are lovely.

It’s not that hard to stick to the rules.

Becky and I found the place to be brilliant and the staff were really friendly.

Can I just say that we've seen people kicked out over the years and we've seen people being told off.

In all of those occasions the people involved have all got what they deserved and the owner has dealt with the situation professionally.

The reviews we've seen posted afterwards bare little or no resemblance to what happened, often people with axes to grind.

Go and experience it for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

Stick to the rules at BGHS and you'll have a great time. The sauna, steam rooms, jacuzzi etc are for relaxing. The rest rooms are for serious fun. It's impossible to say which days are better than others, you just take your chance. When it's good, it's good, but when its great, it's amazing

I would like to point out that at genuine naturist sites like spielplatz for example, you can kiss, you can cuddle you can be natural you also speak to people and shake hands.

At naturist clubs you go naked and dont have to wear a towel.

They dont have 'rest rooms'

Naturism is about being natural.

I dont know what bghs is but when i went it was neither naturist or swinger freindly.

Spot on. My feelings about the place as well. I have had good times here but I gave up going in the end as it always felt slightly depressing! A strange place all in all.

My FWB and me liked it; we went in the daytime during the week. The owner was very helpful, willing to show you around and explain the rules. The food was very good and reasonably priced. You may have some men walking around, looking for prospective play, but the ones we encountered were respectful and kept their distance once you told them no. The only negative is that it can be very hot in some of the pools.
