the gym and random places

Few articles have been cropping back up in the papers lately. Most recently was the attic. Any ideas as to why the resurgent interest in clubs?

You may have a point there. I laugh at half of what they report esp the line "the woman in charge of the cinema room"

It isn't a bad interview . I just don't see the relevance. It isn't news attic has been there for years. Papers now just seem to be in search of sensationalism

The media hasn't really stopped, so not a resurgence as such. There are always articles floating around about clubs, parties, the scene in general. The last one we were involved in was only a few months ago. I tend to think that if the news is bland, they grapple together a sex/swinging story to keep the readers interested. We are just fodder to them; I accepted that a long time ago.

Even if clubs don't agree to being in their rags, they will write an article anyway. There are stealth reporters on here who have sensationalised events that have been listed and thrown a story together from it, practically quoting comments verbatim that people have made on threads! It happened to one of our MILF Monday events a couple of years ago. We didn't agree to an article, they just saw the event thread on here and made a story from it. It was hilarious to be honest and pretty inaccurate, but we made LadBible from it, so that made me smile hahaha

There's no getting away from it.

I used to avoid the press like the plague and ignored any requests for quotes etc... but they went ahead and wrote inaccurate articles, made up quotes and made a mess of it all. So I decided to work with them. I was told in no uncertain terms by one journalist that the article is going ahead regardless so you may as well work with us to get it right or suffer the fall out if it isn't. Fuckin bastard.

So now, I do work with journalists and it's been positive since I have. I am known now for being open and reasonable with them and it's been a turning point...I was even on the radio earlier this year! lol

I do it to promote a positive message about swinging and BDSM, not necessarily to promote the club as it can be more trouble than it's worth to do that. So instead, I talk about the legalities, the variances within swinging and the positive aspects of the lifestyle.

We just need to accept that we are always going to be of interest to freelance journalists...sex sells after all!

Sex sells, look at any tabloid from the last 50 years. Be honest, even if you don’t buy them (someone does, they outsell the grownup papers many times over) then you’ll happily look at the story if you see a tattered copy in the dentist waiting room. I know I do.

A few weeks ago the Sun ran an article on a list actors that were swingers and it fuelled some interest.

We were contacted by BBC radio tees and were on the Antony Collins show last week , he came over and did a very good interview that was an interest piece not slagging off people at all.

We are also appearing in a Podcast soon called ‘Am I normal ‘ the guy is exploring all sorts of lifestyles including BDSM , addiction , swinging etc.

I think the media’s attitude to swingers is changing. After these a list celebs quoted they were swingers they published a whole load of statistics and it seems more and more people are trying it.

Good, the more open minded and less judgemental people are the better.

Plus everyone is sick of Brexit surely?

Think you’ve got more chance repling to a newspaper article in the local rag than the fab forum to get a meet. .....
