It’s only been two weeks since it opened and some changes has already been made. Much warmer by pool area much larger smoking area a bar in the dance room better lighting into the cinema.

I’m sure when the party starts on Friday other changes will be made

So many pleased faces left on Saturday smiling and can’t wait to come back.

Thinking of going this Friday, but not sure about the likely turnout - the Eureka weekender is on, which could pull people away?

Definitely want to see the new club!

We are the biggest Kestrels fans but wanted to find somewhere else during the closure. Although Eurekas is not the same it can be a fun place to spend a sunny day. But it isn't for everyone.

But surely club owners shouldn't be slagging rival clubs off? In a hugely difficult climate and industry which Skinnybird is all to aware of, why not just be polite about other clubs. I don't get the bitchiness and it puts me off trying the new venue.

Agree.

We enjoy different clubs for different reasons. When we go to a club we don’t like we don’t go back again, but we refrain from slating them off on these forums because it’s just our point of view.

We get uncomfortable when a club is criticised for a lack of ‘sophistication’. It takes all sorts to make a good party atmosphere, and we have enjoyed many good party nights at eureka.

Every club has its merits. We’ve enjoyed some sunny days at Eurekas, in the last 12 months, but internally it’s not a patch on the new Abfabs.

A darkroom should be pitch black, that's why its called a darkroom. The whole idea being it's driven by touch, feel and peoples inhibitions are reduced due to the anonymity of a pitch black space. The current darkroom is nowhere near as dark as the previous ABFABS which is a shame

If you just want a dimly lite play area then the cinema is the place to go

Rickmansworth (Near Watford)

The premier inn next to abfabs can not be booked via booking com or other “hotel” websites (not sure why). If you go to the premier inn website directly and search for “London Heathrow Terminal 5” that will be the correct one next to abfabs. The address of the premier inn is 420 Bath Road. (Make sure you book the correct one as there is another premier inn that is on booking com which is 3 miles away that is also on Bath road. X

Unusual to have to pre book as a couple, but a very good idea so you can monitor the ratios well done.

Mind you, that is what usualy stops me going as a single bloke cos i rarely know in advance so not good for me.

Just grab it on the night then, if you've done an online registration and booked in for whatever night your going. I've been every week since they opened and they have two lines. One for members already have their cards and one that don't .

If you can’t get to us to collect your cards, on the night is fine. If you book in as a non member and fill in a application before attending, we can gather the details and have your card waiting.

The non members queue is rather slow as issuing 200+ a night it a tad time consuming but we will endeavour to go as fast as possible.

I'd be interested when the daytimes become more established.

It's a bit far for my lunchbreak so it might have to be an after work or early finish thing for me.

Has anyone tried the food yet? Tasty? Potential to 'swing' by after work, have a bite to eat and some fun too? Then I can go back to my hotel and rest!

I think it is, but also I think businesses affected would not only get a good compensation deal, but help with re-locating? Don`t quote me though!

That would surprise me if it was the case when a business was opened AFTER the location was announced

Otherwise people will be leasing empty buildings merely for compensation

Skinny, or others?

We have just registered membership on the website and will collect our cards on the night (saturday) booked for Saturday night, the cost was free.

I assume we turn up with £70 Cash for the 2 x Membership fee and £50 for the night?

also do you accept card at the door for entry instead of cash and do you take card at the bar or cash ? :D

New entry fees for single guys I’m afraid is putting me off joining. I have a limited income and travel costs plus £50 entry for an evening (6.00 pm - midnight) is too much for me. I’m sure it would be fine for most single guys that are working.

Glad to see the club back again as I have fond memories of the old location and the friends I made there.

Yep it did as 50 was nonmembers price at old club. Us guys are going to have to find nice single ladies to take.

A free lift can be a pretty good deal breaker.

50 is alot if im being brutally honest!!!

Eureka charge men 10 quid on a wedensday night.

Midweek nights are always less attended and 50 will put alot of guys off from going.

Any chance that can get reviewed?

If the price is to improve class of male Clientelle i understand but if its business then im confused

Surely a Dark Room only needs to be dark to be called a dark room. If it was called a pitch black room then yes I would expect it to be pitch black. I think the tiniest bit of light makes it better, so that you can just about make out the shapes of people rather than trip over them, and stroke blokes by mistake. Which normally neither guy is looking for

I think you’ll find that all nationalities display those characteristics. Speaking English doesn’t exempt people from being pushy, grabby, touchy feely or having an entitlement attitude because they paid the entry fee to a club.

Clearly none of us know the running costs and upkeep of the club . It is up to the proprietors of any business to set a price for their services/items or in this case entry price and as a businessman you hope you've gauged it correctly. If the phones not ringing or people aren't coming through the door you know that you've got it wrong . For some £50 is ok for others £10 is too much .

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. A business sets its price your choice to use or not

Although no sex in the swimming pool do you still go in pool in swimming trunks/costume or naked. By the sound of it you can’t even have any sexual fun without intercourse with your partner. No kissing etc.

Just comeback from there for their first midweek opening, I have been reading this thread and others for the last few weeks and just cant I understand why people just want to keep knocking them, I think it's a good venue with the potential to become a fantastic venue, sure there are some things that might need to be done but I know the team there will be on top of it in no time. It's a shame people are not as quick to give them some credit for what they have achieved so far as they are to run them down.

And the £50 issue, I think it's worth it all day long

Just to clarify, my previous post was a lament about my lack of financial clout to be able to afford the entry fee. This is a business with overheads, so entry fees have to be set to reflect this. I only wish the new adventure the very best. I could still pay the membership fee (if accepted for membership!). Maybe the answer is to find a partner in crime and attend as a couple.

Went last night for the first of the new Wednesday evening openings and loved the pool. We found it just the right temperature and getting out of the pool was a big improvement over the old Kestrels where we could be shivering down that old draughty corridor!

It's not unusual as a club rule - bit of a running joke at Jaydees that when staff do the rounds that everyone sticks their hands in the air to show they're not up to anything! In theory it's the rule at Eurekas too but that seems to be a little...fluid.

I'm afraid that no kissing in the pool may be a deal breaker. The pool was always a great place to meet people, have a nice snog before moving somewhere else for more intimate play.

Let set the record straight regarding the rules of using the pool.

If you own or run an establishment that has a pool you have to have a string of qualifications in how to keep the water in the pool safe. Pools, hot tubs and jacuzzi are heavily regulated and carry a huge fine if they are not kept up to standard.

Having body fluids of any sort in the pool will upset the chemical levels and possibly, to the degree, we have to shut it for your safety.

So yes no sex in a pool is a regulation to keep the water at a healthy level and all who use it healthy.

We are aware this is not something we can manage all the time but we do ask you respect the regulations we have to abide by to keep your club out and functioning without breaching regulation.

Kissing!!!!!! Not sure where that has come from...

We do have a huge list of regulations we have to abide by....

No sex in the pool, hot tubs or jacuzzi.

No alcohol on the ground floor or in the dungeon or dark room.

No drug to be carried or considered on our premises. If we suspect you are under the influence we have the rights to ejected you or refuse you entry.

If we are if the opinion you have consumed too much/enough alcohol we can refuse to supply you any.

No external alcohol to be brought into the premises.

I could go on but I’m sure you are as bored as me with reading a very tiny fraction of regulation we need to abide by.

X

No alcohol on the ground floor or in the dungeon or dark room.

No drug to be carried or considered on our premises. If we suspect you are under the influence we have the rights to ejected you or refuse you entry.

If we are if the opinion you have consumed too much/enough alcohol we can refuse to supply you any.

No external alcohol to be brought into the premises.

I could go on but I’m sure you are as bored as me with reading a very tiny fraction of regulation we need to abide by.

X"

Interesting this didn’t apply at the old venue whatsoever. In fact I witnessed staff ‘playing’ in the swimming pool at Stanwell on numerous occasions. So, would that suggest the old venue pool and jacuzzis were a health hazard ? I understand there were numerous breaches of health and safety at the old venue.

Should we expect this time around the management team will actually adhere to health & safety issues imposed on them by local licensing ?

Will Abfabs be creating a ‘club review’ page here on Fabs ?

In relation to entry, will the club be mindful of clients behaviour whilst on premises in relation to d*unkenness, homophobic behaviour and general weirdos ?

I have witnessed all the above at the previous venue and found the management attitude poor when dealing with it. For example... cash at the door was more important, not the quality of client and condoning obnoxious behaviour. It’s a private venue... therefore you can lawfully eject disruptive customers.

"Let set the record straight regarding the rules of using the pool.

There is no point comparing the old venue with the new venue as the new club is complying with the law as it is today and they should be applauded for trying to satisfy the strict licensing rules that are now being applied to them, which restrict and control customer activities.

@SkinnyBird - Thank you for the clarification. The new rules seem sensible and the kissing thing is clearly a false rumour.

We all know that the old venue wasn't fully compliant with various licensing requirements so there will be differences between then and now. Also I believe that the council concerned isn't experienced in licensing swingers clubs and are working with the Abfabs management. It's all something of a work in progress, but they're absolutely right about bodily fluids in the pools and hot tubs.

Changing the subject slightly..

I see it’s not on the club listings. When is the club open? What facilities does it have, is it always mixed night, or are there nights just couples and single ladies? How much is it to join, is there an annual joining fee? How do I go about booking, and what is the dress code?

Thanks

When I asked what time was it open I got the answer "same time as the old club" which wasn't helpful as I had never been to the old club !

Register online and book online via abfabs Heathrow (Google that and it brings up the site. I can't add it as I'll get a ban for it on the forum's)

They do need to be in the club reviews as people are going to keep asking the same questions you are.

I asked that further up the thread as the website says same as old club but I'd never been there daytime's so didn't know what they were. Skinnybird did kindly reply but would be helpful if they were in their site.

The website for Heathrow Kestrels still says "we plan to keep the opening hours the same"

From memory, Kestrels used to open at 1030 every day. When it closed depended on whether there was an Ab Fabs or another event. But I think usually shut at 10pm....? Parties went much later (3...?) so they used to shut in between - 6pm-8pm rings bells.

I realise the clubs not open during the daytime, but when it does, are there any outside sunbathing areas to enjoy?

We loved the old abfabs and was so excited to know this new one was opening. But so far have been put off with the fact regarding sending id online to a swingers club. For reason being so many top end high security companies have had stolen and leaked personnel info. Imagine if this happened likewise.
