We're going to a club, VA or JDs... Any other suggestions would be great.

Anyone know of any newbies nights on Fridays?

The Vanilla Alternative is an ideal venue for anyone starting their journey into swinging clubs. We get many each weekend and although not specifically designated as 'newbie nights' they provide a relaxed introduction to this wonderful lifestyle.

With a warm welcome at the front door followed by an informative tour of the club, people new to this scene are made aware of others there in a similar situation. Conversation flows and following possibly a few drinks from the well stocked licenced bar and something from the delicious buffet, most then drift to the wonderful hot tub and open play areas. On Friday nights when there can be a maximum of 10 single guys in attendance, a large couples only area is available for those who want some fun away from the other general play rooms.

Feedback at the end of the evening and reviews in the 'CLUBS' section here has proved that their first introduction to clubs was both enjoyable and nerve settling, and many return for more of the same (it can be a bit addictive!).

At VA's there is no membership fee and no requirement for couples to pre-book. Just register online via the club's website (or at reception) and bring photo ID on your first visit.

Nice white fluffy towels for the hot tub are provided in the lockers.

Interesting thread. We are thinking of going to one or the other on a Saturday night, probably in March as busy till then. I believe they are quite close to each other. We are both bi and looking for the same but unsure which one to try. Have been to the attic and it was amazing, so much better than any of the local clubs we have visited.

If you’re both bi and looking for bi nights then VA does first Friday of the month spicy bi nights. They are amazing bi parties.

Jaydees is better for newbies, much more friendly and also has the option of private rooms if you arnt ready to play in the open (VA is all open play)

Jaydees also has newbie night frequently.

They are having a 21-40 night on 8th feb and it looks like it’s going to be really busy x

OP You’ve been here over 3 years so can probably guess every time someone asks JD’s or VA? Inevitably you will get club helpers, organisers and regulars bestowing the virtues of either club, opinions are just that, opinions neither club is better, friendlier than the other, how your evening goes at either is down to how you interact with others on the night, so toss a coin, bite the bullet and just go to either, after a long time on the site what have you got to lose?

I’ve been to both.

It’s worth trying several different clubs to see which your preferred is, I just prefer Jaydees.

I like how VA has been done, it’s very upmarket, but due to lack of private play I feel it may be intimidating for newbies who arnt used to playing in public.

We’re complete newbies with NO experience at all.

We went to Jaydees Newbies Night last Saturday. Really warm and friendly welcome from a varied mix of people. Great place and felt at ease more or less straight away.

Mrs dabbled with her bi-curiousness, we watched a lot, chatted a lot, and played together a couple of times (in the main room and the cinema) and socialised at the bar and in the hot tub. We’ll definitely be going back.

And we’re off to VA’s Saturday Soirée on 9th and have booked a room to stay over.

We can always play in a private room at home - the clubs is more about voyeurism, exhibitionism and playing with others for us...

Check the reviews for the clubs under clubs section. You could always spend the weekend and go to both clubs. x

You're local to both and I'd suggest try both. They are both well established clubs that get great feedback but are very different. Whichever club your prefer is usually down to preference, it's not that one is better than the other they are just different

VA is a nice club but its not for all. I had been to clubs before and when my wife first started we tried a few different clubs. The problem with VA for new people is that there are no private spaces. If you have someone who is building their confidence around others then they may not be ready to play in full sight of others straight away. That's how it was for my wife and this is Why Liberty Elite fits our needs better as we can play in private rooms. VA is a really nice club but the expectation is that everyone is comfortable with public play, which isnt always the case, especially for new people. We will probably go back when the wife is more comfortable with the layout there. VA does have a lovely big hot tub so great to relax and chat to other people in.
