What are the odds?

I'm married and I'm interested to join a swinging club as a single man.

To be clear, i didn't start this post to receive abusive messages, I have got my own reasons to have a secret life.

What are the odds to meet/be seen by someone that you know in a club?

Has it happened to you? How did it go?

Low but not zero.

It wasn't a club but we attended an organised social 30 miles from our home town. There was a married guy there from the next street along whose wife was unaware he was on fab.

We said nothing to her or him about his marital status or why he was here. As it happens his wife found out but that's another story.

25-1, can get it boosted to 50-1 if you like this post.

I've actually seen at least 4 people I know in clubs, quite a shock!

Hi all,

Thank you for getting back to me.

I guess clubs are not yet for me until I sort out my problems at home.

Whatever your problems at home, they won't be solved by going to clubs if that's going to add to them.

Most people who go to clubs aren't going to go running to your partner or family just because they see you there; it's far more likely that, just like any other kind of playing away from home, you'll be caught out by other things than being caught in flagrante. Having spent some time in divorce courts, for more than the obvious reasons, I can say that the reasons why people suspect infidelity are more than just lipstick on your collar or the neighbours broadcasting that they saw you three up in a sex club with total strangers. People notice, for instance, the gaps in timetables or the money spent that can't be accounted for. They notice the extra miles your car is suddenly doing or the speeding ticket on a road you'd never normally travel.

If, on the other hand, your reasons for not wanting to be spotted in clubs are more to do with your professional life or reputation, or your religious affiliation, good luck with that, but travel always helps. Nevertheless, you need to have a good plan B for when you are spotted, because while the press can be subdued with privacy laws, your neighbours or fellow church goers can't be.

I'm a lawyer and Katie's a doctor. I once bumped into an ex client at rios and she has bumped into a junior doctor she used to supervise at a social.

It happens. However if you go to a club a long way from home, the chances of anyone spotting you will be tiny.

Even if you did the chances from going back to your wife will be very slim because they have probably have as much to lose as yourself

I second going to clubs far from home. The chances of someone you know seeing you then will be very low indeed.

If everybody travels away from home to go to clubs then surely it follows very few locals go to clubs hmmm

Just a thought

This is interesting.....

But wouldn’t people local to him travel far from home also to attend a club?

I believe the best way forward for him is to hide in plain site... go to your local club but only during the day...

I think that if you're playing away from home there's always a chance that you'll be spotted and it'll get back to your partner. Its a case of weighing up the risks involved. Let's face it even though the probability of being found out might be low the probability of it causing massive problems if you are is certain.

No, because not everyone does travel far from home to go to a club. Lots use their local ones.

Plus, what are the chances of someone that you know (who matters) being in a non local club at the same time?
