VA balls up... Jaydees?

Ok just found out via a thread here that VA is not open this Saturday.

We have booked the local Travelodge and can't cancel...(booked ages ago)

It seems there is another club called Jaydees near...

Soooo, questions

Is it a relatively short taxi ride from the "VA" Travelodge?

Is it worth joining/going?... Subjective I know.

Hmmmm at least we found out now and could forgo the hotel to do something else.

PS VA sort out your website on android its bloody useless... The menu item doesn't work so you cant see the events page.

As a member of the staff team at The Vanilla Alternative I can only apologise for the current situation with the club's website. Club owner Jules is very aware of the problems and is doing everything she can to get it resolved.

In the meantime I have threads running in the CLUB EVENTS section here showing December and January events that are actually be taking place.

As far as I'm aware, this Saturday Christmas Party at Jaydees is for members only- at least that's how they advertise on here and on their website. But it might be worth contacting the club and explaining your situation? They are on here as _aydeesclub profile, or just go through their website.

I have never been to VA so can't really compare the two clubs, but Jaydees is always very friendly- the last two times I went I was in my wheelchair, and was still able to access some of the areas, as well as have good time. They have both open play areas and private rooms, and a couples' room, where single guys are not allowed. They also have a huge hot tub, almost like a mini swimming pool.

It is not far from VA, the postcode is MK44 2LD, if you'd like to use it to get a quote from a taxi company. I think they recommend Steve's taxi, as the company knows where the club is (it's on a farmland).

They say on their website its strictly members only.... BUT the next sentence says (non members an extra £5)... cant be both.

There doesnt seem to be a club listing on here or an address quoted on their website... not sure why.

Anyway thanks for the heads up... It's probably not too late to become members.. OR forget the lot and do something else

There is the club listing under club reviews, and they have the event thread up on the forum. Maybe you're looking in the wrong section?

As for the full address, they send it normally via email, I believe.

Thanks... given that I booked a hotel for VA when its not even open Its not surprising that I couldn't find the reviews lol

All sussed.. I have the address, taxi quotes and an idea of the club... its a bit like Secrets in Devon methinks... more of a houseparty place (which is fine of course)

I will look into membership and see if we can put our names down.

Hi we do welcome non member couples on members only nights but you will have to bring in photocopies of id and £10 in an envelope which will enable you to become a member on the night. x

We dont put our address anywhere as we dont want any undesirable's turning up at the door. Hope this helps x

Jayydees is 11 min by taxi from the Travelodge. I'd make sure you take directions or perhaps use a taxi Jaydees recommend - first time, in the dark, can be a little tricky to find (it's not really, more that the sat nav takes you to a slightly different place.)

Differences to VA (trying to be factual because everyone has an opinion/favourite):

- Much, much bigger hot tub (24 seater!)

- No bar - byo (works well) - or free tea & coffee

- Private play rooms (6 from memory) as well as public areas and a couples only space

- much bigger space overall I think.

As a complete aside - has anyone noticed that on Google Maps Jaydees site is shaped like a bit like a giant penis?!

We have only been to Jaydees once our only club in fact, but we loved it, laid back and very welcoming. Will be going Saturday again and joining hoping to make it on a regular basis.

You will love it, bring a towel for the hot tub

E mail or ring jaydees

They are very friendly helpful people

Infact look for there nickname and pm them even

If they can help they will and I pretty much guarantee they will let you in .

Taxi ride is 20 mins and that's only cos it's dark country lanes ..make sure taxi driver knows the clubs postcode .

You'll have a ball of a time tho so well worth it

Worse way message me and I'll take you and pick you up

I'm local might even go myself as I'm a member ...

You can actually stay over at the club if you book in advance. £20 per night for one of the club rooms (take ur own bedding) or £70 for a cottage room (B&B style)

We also have a campervan which it seems we could park, so lots of options.

We loved the club.... sooooo glad we found it

We probably didn't see Jaydee's at it's best for several reasons the one time we visited and as a result it isn't one of our favourites, having said that whilst we love VA's and have had great nights there, we had a fairly flat night last time we went and even Chams which is our most regular club and generally our top recommendation can have off-nights where the vibe and the crowd are just off and everything falls flat.

The same club with same facilities and same staff can seem a completely different place from one night to the next, depending on who is attending, what they are into and so on...
