Been many times but won't ever be going back after their massive data breach just over a week ago.

If you value secrecy and discretion you might want to reconsider your choice.

As far as we are aware it wasn’t a massive data breach it affected a small percentage of the overall members, and it was human error not any sort of malicious attack. We have been informed that procedures have been put in place so that it won’t happen again. Fully understand that for those that it did affect it was distressing but mistakes do sometimes happen.

700 couples is still a significant amount of people.

Mistakes do happen, yes, but this was a huge one.

And for what? A childish email.

They send an email to a small group who have previously attended a certain night, and used cc instead of bcc, so everyone got a list of guests emails. School boy error.

Not really seen any follow up of complaints from people getting unwanted attention, messages etc from others over the CC rather than BCC, so looks like people have been sensible and it’s a dead issue, glad people with a bit of sense have taken this for what it was, a human error and either deleted the email, or not used the info in the email and not made a big fuss about it

Can the libs fanboys stop emailing me, defending the club, saying I'm causing trouble, etc

You're coming across like proper weirdos to be honest. Thanks.

The best thing would be to block them and ignore them.

Or you could make more drama and "trouble" on the forums like you enjoy doing.

So are you coming across as a weirdo!! Stop latching onto every thread on this club and making yourself look small minded and petty over what was simple human error and apologies were made etc. I’ve seen no press coverage of it so get over yourself (Chic fanboys)

Also the last thread with 175 posts had the number at around 70, so where has 700 come from and I’m sure you even quoted 70 in that thread. We get the message you don’t want to go to Libs again and I’m sure they don’t want you there either as you really seem to be on a one man/woman mission to have this continue!!

First off, this is the first thread I have commented in about libs. I started the original thread about them. So that's two threads. Two. Not every thread. And I'm the weirdo...

Also you might want to reread the original thread. The emails were sent out in blocks, in alphabetical order. Each block had roughly 70 couples in it. There were ten blocks 70 X 10 =?

Someone asked for advice about libs, I gave an honest answer. Disagree? Point out where I lied and stop making stuff up. Honestly, it really is a bit strange.

We are considering of going this Saturday. It’s been a while since we’ve been to our favourite club.

You actively hinted someone should start a second thread last week so clearly you are small minded enough to attempt to hyjack this thread and make it part two and shame on us for engaging in your pathetic attempt !

Thanks for the maths lesson but we see no mention of ten blocks of 70 in the old thread and how would you know that if you were in one block only? The number was actually 327 is you read the thread again!!

I’ve pointed out at least one lie on the numbers, anyway I’m sure this will have little impact on sensible mature people seeing and accepting it’s a great club and it was a stupid human error which I put money on you have made your fair share off

Hey, it’s a shame you are being attacked here for an honest account of the facts.

Whatever the number of people the club released email addresses and FULL real names of members who had provided this info confidentially And then was, at best, unhelpful in their approach to putting it right. Surely it is reasonable to inform others before they handover their details?

As a related item, we have always found it bizarre how you have to say your real name and postcode to book in with loads of people around. What’s wrong with a membership card?

Anyway OP, It’s a great club with great facilities but, for us, hasn’t done enough to convince us that it won’t misuse data again.

So a human error and a apology what more can the club of done ???

You learn from mistakes so I don’t think the club will have a problem over 10 years running and it’s the first human error !

We don’t really want to get into an extended debate and we just want this to go away. We know you hold events and work there but defending the club on this seems wrong.

They released names and email addresses due to a playground squabble with another event holder. The apology was dry and then people who wanted their details removed had to visit in person. Don’t quote data protection - email is a perfectly valid way of doing this.

Someone showed me a copy of the response when the club were asked to remove details and it bordered on rude and unhelpful. The couple we spoke to were genuinely worried about being exposed to their work.

There probably is little else the club can now do but this was avoidable and I’d want to know if I was about to give my details to them for the first time.

The point is the human error should never of happened, when you give over your personal details in a club you don't expect them to be used in a petty squabble over who owns the rights to a bloody party theme

This is the last time I'm going to comment on the matter as like a lot of people i'm fed up of it.

I just want you to remember that happy helpful lady in reception that always makes you feel welcome when you turn up at any club.

Also the door staff that never judge you for what you wear or how you look but again welcome you into a club so you can have an enjoyable night.

The bar staff who allways smile and make you laugh and try to settle your nerves on your first night

The party hosts who try and put on the best night you've ever had and all the time and effort that goes on before hand to make sure the night run smoothly.

The club owner who could run a pub or hotel but loves offering a place for swingers to go and have a great relaxed time with other like minded people.

These are the people that help at every club, not just Libs. They tend to be volunteers who have been in the scene for a few years and do it to help keep the clubs going.

These are the people that now don't want to be the friendly happy helpful people at a club anymore and would now just like to turn up have a drink , chat and go home.

So well done to everyone who has never made a mastake in your lives you just made this friendly bubbly girl not want to help you anymore.

Hi,

We aren’t trying to make this a battle of emotions or a criticism of those who work there. But please see that other people who don’t earn a living out of the club but could be impacted by public exposure feel let down.

This is our last post too but newcomers to libs should realise that there is a risk signing up.
