OP, lots of people go to clubs by themselves, you don't need someone to hold your hand, just go and make sure you sick with people. It's no different than going to a pub, do you need a woman to do that?

This is true; I've had far more success chatting in here, than physically putting myself in a swing club

No, it is not about a lack of confidence.

No, it is not about being a selfish bloke.

What's in it for her? Perhaps she is just being friendly, and helping a newbie find their feet in what can be a fairly intimidating setting for someone entering for the first time, all by themselves. Perhaps she may like having a male by her side, so that she doesn't feel vulnerable if she turns out to be one of very few single ladies in a club full of blokes. Nobody said she would be 'lumped' with a stranger all night, but TH runs a 'buddy' system I believe, where regulars help introduce new people to others? This I believe, is all that the OP was asking for.

More than once bitten I'm afraid. Helped a few newbies in my time, to have it come back and bite me.

I think some do use women, I think some lack confidence and I think for some it is seen as a cheap way of getting into a club.

Would I help newbies again? No I would not. I would be pleasent but certainly not go as a couple with a total stranger who doesnt have the guts to go alone. I can do it, surely a man can? To everybody else you would look like a couple and that would spoil the night/day for me.

Yep, I've visited 4 different clubs now, all on my ownsome, and speaking as someone who has run a successful, public-facing, sales-driven business for the last 18 years, walking in to a pub/bar by myself and being able to speak with complete strangers comes quite natural to me. Being a single guy in a swingers' club on the other hand, has been an eye-opener

Agree with this. If a lady goes with a newbie they are together all night...cramping her style. What if they don't get on together ? If you go into a club as a couple, especially on a couples night, then the idea is that you stick together.

If I accompany a single gent. I go in as two single people. I make sure they know I will keep them company while they find their feet . Then aftervan hour or so, I wander off and do my own thing.

You didn't put it wrong OP. You put Coming / Taking. It has been chose to be overlooked the coming . Ie you offering. The negative spin has been put on your clearly two way question.

I hadn't till two weeks ago. Been to townhouse twice and going again on Monday. See if there are any newbies nights or socials, so you can get to meet people first. Then there's no need to put pressure on yourself about playing.

I know your nerves are all over the place just thinking about it.Just go for it.

I've taken newbies to a club, never had an issue. Most times its just a social meet and showing them around the club and explaining the etiquette.

Other times, I'll play with the guy and then it becomes a regular thing.

Never felt used. I've been to many clubs solo and often chat to single guys if I see them on their own, then over the weeks seen them grow in confidence.
