Myself and a female friend I have met on here are discussing potentially attending a swingers club together for the first time.

She has never been to one and I've only been once so we are both very much novices. I'm after a definitive etiquette list but can't seem to find one. Could somebody point me in the right direction, or provide suggestions of their own.

Finally, we are both in East Mids area and happy to travel an hour or so. Any club recommendations - friendly, busy, fun, clean etc.

Thanks in advance.

We would thoroughly recommend the vanilla alternative in Bedfordshire. It's a little further than an hour away but it has a hotel attached and is perfect for a first club visit.

It has a licensed bar area which is also a 'dress' area.

The playrooms are very much separate from the socialising areas so you only need venture through when you both feel comfortable.

The club is immaculate and stylish with an amazing hot tub.

It was our first club when we first started and we still go there.

The clientele are also very well looked after and any issue felt with swiftly so much so that there are hardly any.

Etiquette wise the biggest is no means no and don't be afraid to use it.

Don't go into the play areas fully dressed.

Apart from that be polite and be honest with your desires is a wise way to be.

Anything in particular you wanted to know?

Etiquette wise, it's fairly simple really. Don't touch without asking, be friendly and non pushy.

Most clubs will give you a tour of the club and explain the different rules of the various rooms. Some are couples only, some are private and lockable. Some are open to all. Some you can watch through a window.

Above all, you're never expected to play or do anything you're not comfortable with. So you can just go and socialise all night or just watch or just play together by yourselves in a locked private room.

We may not necessarily be what you’re looking for in terms of a club, but if you have a look at our website we have a BMFC Etiquette that we put together MANY years ago. It’s all mainly common sense and should apply in any club really, not just ours. There’s also lots of BMFC advice, which again, could apply in any club.

We are on the club reviews section under Greater London you can find our web address there - not too sure if I can post it here

What Phoenixcouple said is absolutely bang on. Our first club visit was to the Vanilla Alternative a couple of months ago. We went again this weekend and whilst there booked the hotel for a Saturday and Sunday event in February and for the Festival of Fun weekend in August! Visiting the VA has given us the confidence to try clubs more local to us but I think we'll always head back there when time allows. It's a great place and if you let them know it's your first time, "Steed" from here will give you a tour when you arrive. He's always around the club making sure every one is having fun and is a true gent. He helped disperse our first time nerves. Go visit, you won't be disappointed.

Each club website cover etiquette and FAQ. But as said no touching unless invited to do so and adhere to their dress code. Never expect to play. Go to enjoy the atmosphere with like minded people. I love attending The Playgrounds events which at the moment are at Arousals in Bedfordshire. Many new couples and singles attend, but as its invite only the single men are vetted prior to invite and you get a good balance of people. Plus you get the bonus of seeing the guest list before going so you can network before attending

Like other have said, don’t touce people without asking first and the main rule is No means No xxx also don’t assume everyone is there for the same thing you are, xxx

We would recommend La Chambre in Sheffield it is a great place for new people to the club scene, it is a night club for swingers and it looks and feels like a normal pub inside xxx, the club has a great atmosphere and if nothing else it is a great night out xx the club is over three floors so there is plenty of room , there are large social areas along with some very private areas and there is a fabulous heated pool and sauna xxx the staff in there are second to non and they can’t do enough to help you have a great night xxx

It will depend very much on what you are looking for and who you hope to meet. Some clubs are dress down which means that you are expected to get undressed as soon as you enter, others have social areas but require you to dress down in play and wet areas, others allow people to remain dressed in all areas.

Some have hot tubs, saunas and pools, some do not.

Some have private play areas, others are all open play.

Some have special party events where you don't have to become members to attend, some have quite firm membership requirements

Some have couples only nights, some restrict single men on certain nights, others don't restrict them at all

Try and work out what you feel you want from a club, the kind of people you think you want to meet, what's really important to your experience. Then go have a look at the club listings, check out their websites and then just give one a try without any expectations or preconceptions. Any club worth their salt will try to ensure newbies are taken care of and fully appraised of their own etiquette.
