Face pic for club membership

Swing 69 are opening their normally gay sauna in hull as a swingers night once a month and demand a face pic before you can be put on the guest list

I'm a member of quest and pandora clubs and never had to do this. What do you think to this policy? Would you agree to it? (Yes it's their policy and they can do what they want I'm asking for opinions)

We won't join a club if they ask for a face pic - hubby says it's either a invasion of his privacy or doesn't want to be vetted on the basis of looks.

That is the big turn off for me to goto any club, they ask for face pic and it is not even confirmed that you would get a membership...

Is there any club/spa in Hull don't ask for face pic? I am coming to Hull tomorrow and will be staying for a week, don't want to end up alone at the hotel...

Hiding in the shadows

I recently joined a club, and had to provide a photo.

Didn't bother me.

I can understand why some ask. Security, making sure the person who then turns up is actually that person and certain clubs may have a 'criteria' be selective on who they want as members.

Criteria based around physical appearance would lead me to not want to go to a cub like that.

So called 'Exclusive' events are really off putting.

Sex isn't exclusive, it's inclusive - any idiot can do it.

Understandable that people don't want to send their face pics as it seems a bit judgemental or invasive. We did to get in to Le Boudoir but we really wanted to go based on the reviews so there was no choice, it wasn't a decision we took lightly but was well worth it. Depends how much you want to go to that club really.

I don't see what the problem is if the club want it for a membership card or security reason.

Everyone at the club is going to see your face anyway, unless you hide in the corner wearing a mask all evening.

Plus, what do you have to hide? Everyone there is in the same boat!

It's probably more that they don't like that the club is potentially being selective based on looks which really isn't a good thing as that's quite personal. Doubtful it'd actually happen unless you look like you sleep in hedges but it wouldn't be nice to be turned down.

Always a grey point. In the eyes of the law any members club need a list of members and addresss. There has been a few serious incidents at swingers clubs over the years and identifying people was they key to those investigations. So I suppose a good thing is a record of ID. The sauna doesn't seem to have an issue with the gay customers giving photo I'd. Just the swinging community

This isn't about everyone at the club going to see you but about sending a face pic to a club. Who has access to it, what do they do with it, do they save it, do they print it, how long do they keep it, how secure is it and plenty more questions. If a big site like Ashley Madison can be hacked I'm sure smaller places with less security can be.

I don't mind presenting a picture for club membership and have done on many occasions - it's for everyone's security, surely?

Most clubs we've been to have required id with photos. It's the ones that require face pics to be sent to them to pre-approve your membership before even visiting the club.

I think it's a good idea it would definitely mean someone who may have been barred or asked to leave previously from gaining entrance later on down the line. It's good to be able to make sure people are who they say they are.

Or, as someone said, god forbid there was an accident and somebody needed to be identified! It's a sign of a good club asking for a copy of ID in my opinion!

I think I must have written that badly, or you read it wrongly, or a bit of both.

What I meant was that clubs/parties for so called 'exclusive' people, are bullshit and shouldn't be encouraged. Sex in and of itself, is not an exclusive activity - I wasn't talking about me personally. I was talking about the scene, and the way some events cater for a certain demographic.

I find that to be quite offputting as a concept.

I expect most clubs to ask to see ID to join. This thread is about asking for a face pic to be sent before they'll even put you on the guestlist.

Which is entirely my point about clubs excluding people based on looks as they perceive them (everyone has a different idea of attractive). Of course everyone wants to have sex with people they find attractive - personally I don't think that sex should be 'exclusive' in that respect and that clubs/owners shouldn't (in an ideal world) give themselves the right to exclude anyone.

Ah ok.

I don't see the difference. I'm happy to be excluded from certain clubs and parties. I'm not young, not attractive and I dont have a big cock. I don't lose sleep over it. I do respect the people that want those things.

It depends what their policy is though. Do you know their reason?

We ask people for a face pic before we will put them on the guestlist too. But that's not because we want to see what people look like, that's because we travel around to different venues and it would be impossible for us to take copies of ID at each venue so it's easier to ask for it beforehand. We would never refuse anyone based on their looks (or the colour of their skin, despite who we are!)

We don't do anything with the information that we are given other than keep it on file in case of an emergency. It's kept until someone decides to revoke their membership.

Most people are grateful that we have this in place.

No idea whether the other club are doing the same thing? Maybe they don't have facilities to take copies of ID yet and are doing it this way first? Have you asked them why they do it?

I agree

Theme nights can be it's own filter when something specific is needed so can be supported or avoided eg BBW, kink/fetish, interracial etc.

AHH I've asked for photos before putting some people on the Guestlist before. Mainly because there are some people I don't want to attend again if they've caused problems before. It's the best way to recognise someone and saves causing a problem. Had many people set up new profiles having been banned from various sites. I would definitely ask them why.

I've been to a BMFC and wasn't asked for a photo in advance! This club just said 'security' but personally I don't see what sending a face pic with no documents has to do with security!

It's something new we've started over the past few weeks on our new website that's probably why!

Tbh, I kinda agree with you, as you need their full details for real security. But in the same respect having a photo is better than absolutely nothing? Let's face it, these days even ID isn't safe as being 'real ID' anymore with all the fake ID's going around and fake names people give on the scene!

But at least the club are trying SOMETHING. And maybe as they learn with time, they'll change their policies and just take ID in future? We all have to start somewhere and don't always get it right at first.
