Hi everyone

I'm looking at going to my first club and have been doing a little research of the ones nearest me, club entice is the closest but there are no reviews in the club section

I realise it's a pretty new club but has anyone been that can shed some light/feedback as to how busy it is? Is it ideal for a newbie etc etc

TIA

Sorry I don't know, they went very quiet after cancelling the opening night months back. If you search the forums maybe someone in the know has commented

Dare I say it's been an interesting last two years since Sue and I first went to look at an ex nightclub (with a view to opening our own private members club) that building had been empty for nearly ten years and was in a bit of mess to say the least.

After almost walking away from it altogether, we had one last try to secure what we hoped would be something for everyone in the lifestyle to enjoy.

What then proceeded to happen regards the building being sold etc unfortunately, we had no control over. This in turn caused problems securing what we had already achieved, plus the work and money involved.

After all of this and through sheer bloody mindedness, good few sleepless nights and being let down on several occasions, we now have everything in place for the club to be finished over the next couple of weeks.

Well it would be rude not to have a Xmas party and really start 2018 in true style with a masquerade ball.

Thank you for all the support.

Carl, Minx/Sue & staff, xxxxx

Everyone has teething problems. I'm sure the club will comment and, if the review is right, I'm sure they'll do what they can to fix it. A club is as much about the people as the surroundings.

First and foremost we're finally open, not without its teething problems granted, we can only apologise for this and it will be sorted ready for Friday night when we open again.

The locker situation through no fault of our own the delivery was delayed and they turned up late without half the locks that were supposed to be delivered with them, this gave me only 2 options to cancel the night or to employ a cloak room attendant.

As for the heating this caught us all out and have to hold my hands up we really didn't expect the cold to travel as it did from the main entrance throughout the club. This and the lack of heating in ladies toilets etc will be rectified this week.

In regards the website the rooms and pictures are not there to mislead but to give an idea of what we are hoping to achieve with the final results.

Regarding the workmen I had on site, they are actually friends who worked tirelessly to get the club finished in time.

Mobile phones are not permitted in the club. We will have signage in place this week and ask everyone to leave them in their lockers in future.

Again, I can only apologise and will make sure all of the issues are sorted before next weekend.

Carl, Sue & staff.

Xx

Guessing that there were no lockers in March, plus a website that displays images that are not your club, just what you hope it might look like only goes to prove that the owners can't be trusted

Are you aware that stealing someone else's images because it's how you "envisage" the club to be is still copyright fraud?! You can't use an image that isn't yours to portray an idea of an area. It's illegal and false advertising.

Hope they get it up and running fully as it was promised including hot tub on the roof terrace which sounded awesome but I think the opening debacle has damaged their chances.

Shame they didn’t just say guys were not fully ready but we want to be open for you for Christmas and I bet people would have been more forgiving. Not sure they could have said that though as the messages for the last 8 months from the previous cancelled opening was they were ready apart from just one thing, the upholstery. The reality is way more than that.

I hope they find a way though as no one wants a club to fail

Iv opened two new places in the time this hadn’t opened fully. Must have very deep pockets. ..... think the boats been missed with opening new clubs as I think private parties have become the main stay of swinging. Iv seen a massive change in the last 20 years and more so in the last two. Hope this gets off the ground. But clubs are becoming a rich persons hobby. Xx

All our teething issues have now been resolved lockers are sorted and so is the heating unfortunately since we got the building and our previous opening date back in March we had issues with the landlord and the premises that we couldn't control hence why it took so long to get things sorted. Yes our opening night didn't go like we planned and hoped but unfortunately two days before we were due to open I sadly lost my mum who was terminally ill so things did get missed we certainly did not want to cancel again so we tried our best unfortunately we had issues with lockers and heating that weekend and we tried to supplement things and make the best of the situation we were in but on a brighter note as we have said all issues are now resolved so come along and have a nosey as where we are now is a lot better than when we opened we look forward to welcoming you all any questions please message us and we are happy to answer and all our opening times etc are on our profile hugs minx xx

You told everyone it was upholstery that delayed. The local council said you had no licence which you denied, since that date you have posted so many updates on new stuff being installed!! Was it ever nearly ready?? You don't seem to have come across as being very honest so far.

Hopefully all works out well and you have no further issues.

Give them a chance it's a new venture and another club for us all to enjoy . Bitching and back bitting all the time isn't going to help I think we should try to be sympathetic to their problems give the club full support and fighting chance to get itself on the map . Good luck guys see you soon

Sorry for being pedantic but you claim to have seen a massive change in the last 20 years, but you are only 32!

Maths being my strong point says you have been involved in, or taking an active interest in the swinging scene since you were 12.

The cynical side of me says this is yet another dig at Entice of which you have done publicly on here, and privately within your own venue, which as a fellow club owner stinks of you being worried about your own business.

You can of course deny this profusely and claim that’s not the case......if so then perhaps keep your own council on someone else’s business and concentrate on your own.

Amour slag off all other local clubs and have done since they first opened. It's nothing new on the forums.

Yes our opening night didn't go like we planned and hoped but unfortunately two days before we were due to open I sadly lost my mum who was terminally ill so things did get missed we certainly did not want to cancel again so we tried our best unfortunately we had issues with lockers and heating that weekend and we tried to supplement things and make the best of the situation we were in but on a brighter note as we have said all issues are now resolved so come along and have a nosey as where we are now is a lot better than when we opened we look forward to welcoming you all any questions please message us and we are happy to answer and all our opening times etc are on our profile hugs minx xx"

Don’t think amour have slagged any off .... we always recommend townhouse and Cupid’s .... always a bit of banter .... if you read the comments Iv personally said well done fir opening. And allowed Carl in to the club despite the history or the fact others wouldn’t.

Personally I wish Carl all the best. But the north west has too many clubs with fewer customers than a few years ago Running kinky rooms, Manchester partypad and the new Liverpool party pad the futures in private party venues for both fab events and vanilla ones ..... 2018 will be a big test for the north west. ...... I visit lots and know how the finances work.

I think Amour have been quite balanced with their comments about Entice and have read quite a lot of positive ones.

You see it as ‘slagging off’ and most of us (including me who it’s been directed at occasionally) see it as banter because we know him. His banter is directed at everyone, it’s not like he singles places out. He even takes the piss out of himself.

But as I said, if you know him, and know his personality, you know it’s meant light heartedly.

We went to Entice last night was very quiet but to be fair it was Boxing Day and most people were probably still hungover, was immaculately clean and warm, Carl and his team were very hospitable and friendly, a pool table might be a good asset as it's a social focal point and maybe a dress down time, I'm sure as word gets around that it's open and xmas is over people will start to give it a go, every new business has teething problems but to be fair they all seemed to have been rectified and we will be going again xxx

Seriously. It is the xmas period. People are entitled to time off. Yes this venue has a few teething problems but as they have stated if you have issues pm the club.

There has been so much negativity about this club, which has the potential to be great for the Preston area. Support your local clubs or lose them. Oh wait that would give people something to moan about. .

All clubs have teething problems and I'm sure it's bloody hard work getting one off the ground. Hope it all works out for Carl and the team.

You can't. But a place with a rep could get over a few problems, a place with no rep has to earn it.

Website down. Phone not taking calls. A string of excuses.

Why should I gamble on that when there are alternatives.

£40 membership isn’t that bad. There are clubs that are dearer than that and when you’re in them there’s very few people in and the majority of those are guys. I went to the opening night and yes there were a few problems but these are sorted. The club will definitely get a good following and it’s definitely reasonably priced and well run.

£40 per year is a good deal really- overheads need paying somehow.

As someone who runs their own business it’s all in the details and bloody hard work- all the best to the guys at Entice for trying.

If Entice sort their multiple problems then I could consider paying £40 happily.

Carl’s got a good rep regardless. Marmite for some people. But we all love him He grafts hard and spins a great story. ..... give the guy a chance. Entice will either be a hit in a few weeks or won’t. Sure all the other local clubs willup the game. .....at the end of the day you can have the best club in the world. But nothing beats one round that corner. ..,, gives people of north lancs a choice of a few. 90% of customers live within a few miles. .... I think townhouse is a great club. One of the best. But just to far from Manchester. Same with Cupid’s. If your in town. Is it a walk to amour or a £15 ride to Swinton and £15 bsck ? If I lived in bury I’d go partners regardless It’s location location location

You could do with transferring it to a big company with 24/7 support 365 days of the year. Your website is your most important tool and it can't go down for this long. Maybe consider transferring the domain to godaddy or Fasthosts or similar? You would have full control over your website then and be able to make changes at will.

It's different for me I suppose as I designed and maintain our website, so it's easy for me to adjust whatever I need whenever I want, but your website isn't too complex at all and could be easily maintained by one of your crew or yourself. You just need reliability. Some guy going on holiday is not good enough for your business. You need to think bigger and get a proper company looking after your interests and keeping your website live.

I know you didn't ask for advice but you got it anyway!! lol

Think what you like, since I haven't a clue what that comment actually means.

I've made it perfectly clear what I think. I'll repeat for the hard of thinking though.

I am happy to pay £40 or more IF I know what I'm paying for. I'm cautious about paying when I hear of so many problems and I CANNOT find out if they are fixed.

Simple common sense.

I'm sorry you felt i was rude. Having to make a simple point a dozen times is frustrating.

I messaged the club and told them the website and phone were down. They told me I'd be welcome to come along and pay £40. They didn't bother to tell me the new number.

"Think the 40quid issue brigade is one of them (who he's expects something lol)

Think what you like, since I haven't a clue what that comment actually means.

I've made it perfectly clear what I think. I'll repeat for the hard of thinking though.

I am happy to pay £40 or more IF I know what I'm paying for. I'm cautious about paying when I hear of so many problems and I CANNOT find out if they are fixed.

Simple common sense. "

Please don't bother paying the £40. It sounds like it's giving you too much stress to even think about it. Clubs are meant to be fun places, where people have fun. Not grumble about teething issues that have been resolved.

Onward and upward Club Entice. A welcome addition to the NW scene. See you in the new year.

OK. I don’t normally jump to other people’s defence but really? Can you guys not understand what he’s getting at?

He’s unwilling to part with £40 membership when he knows nothing about the club. As has been said the website doesn’t work, at the time the phone didn’t work, countless issues well published on here by people that have been.

Can anyone blame him for being cautious?

Absolutely I get that but it’s £40!!!! It’s hardly a huge risk or going to break the bank. Even if it’s one trip there it’s still a cheap night. I can spend three times that on a night out and go in some pretty crap places.

£40 is a lot of money to some, especially around Christmas time. I’m not sure because there is a lack of info regarding this club at the moment but I expect that there would be an entrance fee on top of the membership? Can anyone confirm please?

Don’t get me wrong we visit lots of clubs but at the moment this one isn’t worth the travel costs, hotels etc until more info is readily available.

Townhouse don’t get many things wrong and have offered sage advice, I hope Entice take it.

Fast forward 6 months and I'm sure things will be different. Nobody is asking him to part with his £40 unless he wants to. His choice and there are other clubs to go to in the area. So he is better sticking to them if it is giving him so much angst. As has been said the issues have been resolved. What this club does is gives you choice. Take it or leave it.

Just to add to that the OP said the membership fee wasn’t the issue. If that’s the case then go to the club pay the not important membership fee and make your own opinion.

If the OP paid the membership it will gain him access to future events at the club the membership isn’t just one night and I’m pretty sure the problems with the club that are the OPs concern will not be there. But without taking the £40 risk the OP will never know

Admittedly as constantly mentioned through this thread teething problems. If this club was to be treated by a Dentist it would be an expensive course of treatment. However it's the not being upfront n keeping it straight n true. That has lead this thread to where it's at... Sounds and feels as if on occasions being told whatever to pasify the posts.

I agree. £40 just after xmas with a month to January pay day is a lot of money. Maybe best to wait a few weeks until there's more information.

I do like how some clubs are posting and offering advice. Those are the types of places I want to visit. Their attitude on threads like this mean a hell of a lot more to me than the club review section.

Good luck to Club Entice. Don't give up, every new venture will have issues. We all learn from mistakes. The only way is up!

Club entice is a place to go and socialise, meet new people, and have a little naughty fun. Now with what is available atm at the club compared to other clubs which have been open for a while £40 is a steep price but that includes your entry for the first night ( so say £20 for entry and £20 membership fee). And you can look at it like this, it is a “venue” so now people in Preston n surrounding areas have a new club to visit and as it is new and still growing people who visit and see the potential could make suggestions that can make the club feel a lil more personal. In short think of the membership fee as an investment and I get out of the club what you put into it.

Followed the thread with interest and have to ask, what would you invest? Is your plan to suggest to the owner what he should do, to make it “more personal”. It’s not the cake stall at your kids football fundraiser it’s a business.

Starting back in March I think with the upholsterers, the licence issues (defended when the licence hadn’t been granted), the shots of some other place (its what we want it to look like) 9 months to check the lockers have arrived (with keys) website stating facilities that don’t exist, heating not working (didn’t know cold would come through the doors) website down as the club opens, “the guys with family it’s xmas!” to they’ve been nothing but trouble in the space of a few days, phone not working opportunities missed to publicise new number and give full transparent details of pricing... people are I believe right to question the honesty of the owners posts and wonder what they get for their ‘membership’. What seems to be a club being run on a shoestring is facing, I imagine, a tough couple of months in the new year.

I see that there is a telephone number right at the bottom of a very long profile. It might be helpful to highlight that this is a new number.

It would also have helped me a lot if you'd included the new number in your reply to my message saying your number wasn't working.

I'm glad you can afford to pay so much but not everyone can.

It's still not my point. I have a choice. Pay around £40ish at one of 6 or 7 local clubs that I can easily find info about and phone, or one that I know nothing about. It's not a stressful choice. I'm in no angst about it.

I said originally ENTICE me, don't put me off. The club's defenders are missing that point when they attack me.

Any new business has to work extra hard to attract new customers. I'm sure Club Entice are working hard getting the venue right, but that will be wasted effort if they get the external information side wrong. If you can't entice people through the doors, what is inside doesn't matter. Marketing exists for this reason.

Not think the primary concern for most people visiting anywhere is “can we afford this?” And that info should be available in the correct and up to date profile?

We thought it was well worth a visit, horse's for courses.

Some will like it, some won't.

Unfortunately the guys haven't had a good start but hopefully new year new start and all that.

I think the continued sniping says more about the snipers and shit stirrers than it does the club.

Maybe the rival venue's are a little worried about the competition I don't know.

But we've had it ourselves,

Club owners don't like new clubs taking their income fact!

Kicking people while down again says more about them that are doing the kicking.
