Hi there fellow fabbers I'm looking at taking my first visit to a local club in Manchester (Cupids). Not been to one before and also I can converse with people I'm just worried about etiquette and whether a single bi newbie like me will stand out like a sore thumb. Any advice/tips/thoughts/feedback grestfully received xx

Ok, where to start lol! The first thing is this, its not as scary as you might think it is. Everyone had a first night in a club which makes you equal to everyone else. The best advice is this, be yourself, expect nothing, relax, talk to people, show a level of respect and don't spend the night following people around! Oh yeah and enjoy it

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

One thing I notice about Cupids is the amount of single guys lurking in the dark corners and leaning against the walls of the main room. Just watching....

You should mingle, get chatting, don't assume that anything will lead to a shag. But being a pleasant and interesting guy will attract more interest than just watching...

Just be confident. Chat to others as if you were on a normal night out. Don't just stand and stare

Interesting comment - Cupids has a reputation for the respectfulness & the approach that its single males adopt. Single guys have as much right to be in the club as anyone else. Lurking in dark corners - we think not. You are of course entitled to your opnion from a "hidden" profile ????

I am not criticising the club. It was my first swinger club 20 years ago and I have attended many times since. Not sure why the comment on my profile status though... does taking a break from meeting mean my opinion on clubs is less valid? Interesting...

I was advising the OP on how to improve his first club experience. All clubs have lurkers, male or otherwise, and they have every right to be there. But sitting in a corner staring at people isn't going to be half as successful as talking to them.

Comments like this really don't show the club in a good light and I've been many many times and know there to be truth in this comment. This poster is actually someone I know from years ago and is a respected and well known lady on the scene. Maybe a little bit of professionalism maybe required unless you are trying to turn single females away from your club.

As I said before I'm articulate enough to hold s converstion with anyone and wouldn't class myself anything like a "lurker". Just wanting help on the etiquette and approach butvthsnk you again to everyone x

Reading carefully through comments as I'm also thinking of going to a club for first time but its between townhouse or cupids as I'll be visiting Liverpool area a bit over the next yr or two.

Anyone with experience of both...single male perspectives appreciated too.

Well, it's useful for the op too. We like Cupids and travel there quite often.

Cupids is a dress down club. The changing rooms are just inside as you get in the bar. For guys, it's a towel, or boxers etc. The ladies seem have a more outfits and vary from basques, sexy tiny numbers, bra and stockings etc etc. Most ladies are far from naked, so you'll still can still feel comfortably covered if you prefer.

It's a well run, fun place.

Yes, it's a requirement. Boxers / briefs / towel for guys. Sexy for ladies. Ladies cover however suits them, but they couldn't be wearing a long dress. Most wear 'bedroom' type outfits, big variety. Lots if eomen ard body concious and like to cover whatever they are conscious of.
