Hi, Ive been thinking of going to a club for a long time, but am very nervous to walk in alone, I'm shy and worried I'll sit in the corner until I leave. Is there anyone or couple willing to take me with them??

Op I'm afraid you will probably find that most people do not want to babysit nervous newbies to clubs.

We were all new once but we plucked up the courage to walk through that door. Think of it like going to the pub, except that somewhere in the building someone will probably be having sex (not too dissimilar to some of the rougher pubs in some towns lol)

"I don't know what to expect"

Do you go to pubs?

A club is no different than a regular pub or night club. People have a few drinks and socialise with others.

Stoke area

At my local club ( Atlantis Evolution in Stoke) they really look after people going for the first time .

You would get shown around the club, and then have chance to ask any questions. You will be given tips , such as don't sit in a corner looking terrified.

It's best to hover near the bar. You can chat to bar staff and people waiting to be served.

At Atlantis they always introduce you to some regulars , so you have someone to chat to initially until you feel comfortable.

I suggest you read the website and phone the club to find out more about the club and what to expect.

Everyone is nervous going to a club first time , but often regulars enjoy chatting to newbies and telling them their best funny stories

I am sure most clubs give you a tour and if you phone beforehand and explain you are nervous they would help you find your feet. It's a business, they want you to enjoy the night and come back

You gave good advice, it's just the other threads about single guys in clubs may be having an effect, or people have just read your advice and are making their own minds up?

Most clubs I've been too give a tour to newbies be them couples or singles. Generally pointing out or introducing to a few of the better regulars...like many say it's not much difference to a local bar or club....probably friendlier actually...I mean a single guy doesn't get glared at or threatened in clubs for ogling the ladies where he might down town..find the social areas chat and introduce yourself and avoid following ladies around unless asked by them to go somewhere.

Awesome advice Lizzy! It's great to be kind to newbies. Most people forget very quickly what the first time was like.
