So tonight I rocked up a club first time dead nervous. Said to the guy it's my first time thought I'd come see what it's all about. He replied well you can't just walk in its 25 quid for a membership fee and 20 for the night. Well now I feel stupid and angry. Their website does state this which I only found out afterwards. However being stung 45 quid I decided to not be that mug and go back as a couple with some where it's just 10 quid. I totally understand the policy as well but just angry as I'd been plucking up the courage to go. secondly the guy was talking to me like something he'd just stepped in. Any9ne else had this kind of club experience?

Clubs aren't charities. And guys who pay the entrance and membership aren't mugs. Not sure your attitude suits the club scene tbh

Why are you angry ? You can't walk into a club with rules which include being a member to gain entry and then get in for free.

You state is said clearly about the costs involved. Best to research a club, before turning up.

Is £45 so much ? Remembering that is just your first visit. Many people pay more than that for gig or theatre tickets and I bet that isn't entertainment for 5 or 6 hours.

Clubs cost a lot to run.

Maybe find a special event running at a discount price, most clubs run them.

Taking a random female along to save money, is not a good idea either

We pay £60 in fuel, £100 for two nights in a hotel and entrance fees on top and love what we do and have fun. Life is for living.

You have completely the wrong attitude and by the way £45 for a one off night out is for nothing.

just to reiterate I do agree with it and it is my own fault I should've done more research. I realise they don't want every tom dick or harry walking in. But I hope some people appreciate some people have more money than others too.

Overall now I'm just left disappointed now the dust has settled I will try again and be more prepared. I am quite keen on going. I've heard many good things. So moral of this story is be prepared I think.

The trouble with a lot of men that attend these clubs.....you have to know the RULES!!!! It's NOT a knocking shop! !! Socialise and interact with people!.....swinging is NOT all about shagging everything in sight. ....makes my blood boil!! Rant over

Yeah agreed I genuinely went with the intention of meeting some new people to see if they have similar interests. I kept an open mind. I do chat to a girl that goes often. As far as I'm aware she spends the night chatting to people.

Maybe the guy spoke to you "like something he'd stepped in" because a guy who hadn't bothered researching the club and who got so angry and viewed the men that go there as "mugs when discovering he had to pay admission and a membership isn't the sort of clientèle they want?

Good luck finding a women to get you in for a tenner, all women love to be taken clubbing by a man who wants to use them for cheap admission

I didn't intend for this to turn into a user bashing post. As one of the poster above mentioned. I've learned my lesson seen the error of my ways and going forward will rectify the mistake I have clearly made. It is a new learning curve I'm new to the scene.

And as I've said my intention was to find some like minded people. Which I still hope to do in the bear future.

If you really are trying to make a go at becoming a regular at the club it's not too bad once you get past the membership fee. As someone said above , where else can you get a good night out for £25? While sex is definitely not guaranteed your vist can be good provided you make the most of it and listen to some of the good advice in the forum.

OP. Well done for coming back and addressing what you have learned.

Once you have paid the initial membership it does get cheaper.

Pick a good club on a good night. Find a club that limits the number of single guys, so you don't have way too much competition. !!!

Go looking smart, smelling lovely, smiling friendly and chatty. Go hoping you will have a great night socialising and if you get to play it's a bonus.

Kind of a schoolboy error to not research the club etc but people are human and make mistakes. You have to realise as a single guy you are lowest of the low in the swinging hierarchy and considered 'Ten a penny' in some clubs. You are constantly under judgement aswell and have to walk a tightrope. Things you say on here are up for severe scrutiny also. The clubs that have have empathy for single guys are your best bet and where you are not treated like a leopper. There is also a bigger picture if you can swallow your pride accept the mistreatment play ball and just try have fun. Easier said than done though.

That's cheap some round here charge over £55.00 to get in for one night if you don't like it,it can become quite dear,but there is two that don't charge membership which makes for a cheap night.

Saw a guy in a club some years ago demanding his money back because he hadn't got laid and it had cost him a lot to a) get in and b) get his girlfriend out of the way so she didn't find out. With that attitude it's no wonder. He got asked to leave the premises and told not to come back.

I played as a single guy on the scene way back when before I met the wonderful Mrs N; always went to a club with no expectations and more often than not got pleasantly surprised by what happened.

I see this a lot about expectations that is not necessarily the case. Single guys go to clubs with the main objective of trying to get sex believe it or not the 1's who say they just go for the 'social side' are full of shit.

That's obviously an opinion from your experiences tarnishing all with the same brush. like I keep saying if you've read the full thread lesson learnt. The clubs are something I'd like to experience my nativity last night cost me. Perhaps I just need to learn about it a little more before I go jumping in at the deep end. Which kinda makes sense the day after.

I know it's not a club, but similar thing-we do parties. I have to hire the venue, do the work setting it all up, etc.

We ask for a small donation to cover overheads, and some people just expect to walk in for nothing.

Yeah - agree totally - I went to get sex, but you have to be realistic about it and absolutely prepared to walk away with blue balls and have a bloody good wank when you get home

I think clubs could offer 'newbies' an opportunity to sample the club (perhaps early in the evening, or at a quieter time (e.g. midweek/daytime?) for payment of just the admission charge. Then, they would have to take out membership if they wanted to come again. I know I've joined a club in order to gain entry and decided after 30 minutes that the facilities and atmosphere were just not what I was looking for. Expensive lesson.

the place i go in Salisbury is £30 for single guys but u can sleep overnite and get a cooked breakfast in the morning so i think it good value ..especially if u get to do some shagging as well..guess u should have been more careful checking the small print ..hope u had a nice time apart from that
