What to wear to a club

I'm intending to visit a club at some point in 2017 just not sure what to wear. The parties I've been to so far I've been changed into a towel after 5 mins. Seen the attic mentions smart shoes but not seen anything for other clubs in the area. What would you recommend?

Check the website of each club to find out what the dress code is, they do differ.

At the attic it is smart casual. Basically no trainers or sportswear but smart jeans are ok. Wear what makes you feel comfortable but looks like you have made an effort.
