XTASIA - What's Changed

Hi it's been more than a year since we went to XTASIA - been busy and when we have clubbed just seem to have found ourselves at Chams.

What's changed in that time at XTASIA? We've had some good times there, but do think for the size of the club the play areas are a bit limited and segregated away, (we like in Chams how you can wander about without ever feeling you've walked into the swinging bit( the cinema room is about the only room that feels like that, but as it isn't a walk across the whole club to get there still doesn't feel weird)

We often thought XTASIA should have dumped the seating area in the corner of the dancing floor and put some Chams style cage rooms there and connect that to the main rooms areas that are through the doors. (There already seating upstairs and smoking area)

Also connecting flirts to main club would give a seating area(and another bar)

So has the layout changed? Any new rooms?

As say loved nights in XTASIA but sometimes feel the layout of club makes it feel like you have to make the effort to "swing" rather than just wander round and stumble into it, and rooms often then become limited. In fact considering Chams is smaller there probably still more areas to swing and play than XTASIA.

We would like to visit again, and still considering XTASIA for new year or may be Chams, so be good to hear some updates.

Hey,

I'm not exactly 'new' to the scene, but I've never been a regular really, and have been fairly inactive for a while due to some life upheavals. Looking to get back into the... 'swing' of things now though.

Firstly, where's 'Chams'? I've been to a few clubs in England, but don't know of that one.

Secondly, I do tend to agree with you in so far as the layout does seem a little segregated. I haven't been for a while, so you've probably been since I have. I always wonder whether there are areas where playing is forbidden or frowned upon. I think that a seating area is important, but where it is (or was) located seemed a bit too loud to make the most of it, so that could perhaps do with thinking about.

Anyhow, I'm thinking about getting my nerves together and venturing out there on NYE, so maybe see you there? I'll be nervous, as I haven't been around for ages, but it should be good fun nonetheless.

Ok Seems a number of people agree - but has any of this changed? We like the new year idea of tux etc, like their glory hole room...and the club feeling we ok with, dance and a proper bar is cool.

But yes the small segregated area to play just seems wrong. And often no where to play even when you venture in, the glory hole room shouldn't have a door or be lockable. It's got two beds in and we seen it locked with one couple just arguing in there!

We do enjoy the social side of Xtasia. But for the size of the club we really do agree that the play rooms seriously let it down. To far away, to small, to many single men loitering, no air con.

For the size and space they have available to them we really hope they can do something to change that. We'd love to spend more time there but don't because it's a good way to travel when you don't enjoy the play areas so much as other clubs

From what you are saying it does not seem like much has changed... but in all honesty, does much need to change? Like you we go the Chams and we go to Xtasia and in both instances we travel a long way from Clubs that are on more or less on our doorstep. We travel because in our opinion these two Clubs are the best in the UK but for entirely different reasons - they are not even in competition to each other. NYE at Xtasia is a dance/part night where everyone dresss to impress and the vibe is as different as it could possibly be to Chams - not to say hat one is better, or worse than the other. Ultimately if you fancy someone, yo will end up playing, whichever Club you go to.

Rather than compare them, can you not just accept that they exist and can be utilised for completely different moods and according to how you feel? We love Chams because we can go there and chill and know that everyone who is there is there for the same reason and the sexual vibe is all around. But sometimes we want to get dressed up, put our glad rags on and want to dance and party the night away knowing that in all likelihood we may hit it off with other party people and have somewhere we can go to do a bit of horizontal partying...

Our opinion is that this kind of lifestyle that we all enjoy in different ways is so marginal anyway that we should be celebrating the completely diverse experiences that these two Clubs offer. The midlands is truly blessed in our opinion by having the best two Clubs in the UK, albeit for completely different reasons. Enjoy them both for what they are because we would all be poorer without either of them.

I like chams and xtasia but for different reasons. Really wouldn't want them to be the same sort of club for the reasons you gave. Xtasia for the dress up nightclub vibe with 'extras' and chameleons more for the in your face dress down sauna/wet type club.

Wonder if the OP knows about the dogging loft in Xtasia?

Hey, some of the best swinging nights that we have ever had have been in Chams - but we have also had some stunning nights in Xtasia as well. Rather than create division can you not perhaps accept that "our" scene needs to attract all sorts of different people and Clubs like Xtasia really cater for the "young at heart" who can dance and party the night away, and that Both Clubs (Xtasia and Chams) cater for different people who have different moods and different needs at different times?

Let's not descend into a cockfight between the best two Clubs in the country eh?

Wasn't fighting or creating division - I gave a clearly personal opinion about my own experiences of the club in question. I fully appreciate that the two places attract folk drawn to the scene on offer for personal reasons. Long may both thrive - as you say quite rightly; they're very successful and busy clubs drawing clientele from all corners of the country

We certainly not trying to create division either, and agree with some posters about the differences the clubs present, and is why we have attended both.

We certainly like the club element of XTASIA, however for my female half, the dressing up element doesn't really differ, has she always dresses up for Chams as much as she would for XTASIA, and only in a towel when we jump in the jacuzzi, so no difference if she at Chams or XTASIA, for a bloke, dressing up isn't really a seller a smart shirt and trousers is hardly as much fun as my girlfriends outfits! Ok new year getting to put the tux on is fun.

The dance floor, we love, the bar etc...but actually on times we have been on busy nights(new year can be an example) that actually either because you've spoke to someone to go play with, or because you just want to go wander to find someone to play with, you then find that actually there is nowhere to play, because there is only 4 rooms downstairs, 3 of which can be locked, and 2 of them not that big. One room upstairs and then the other side of the club the dogging area - which is not that big, and being 6ft3 can also be a challenge, as the ceiling is low.

So just think their is scope for the two clubs still to be different in their vibe, but equally because XTASIA is such a large club in physical area, that they could make some changes to layout, retaining the vibe and actually improving it but equally improving the swinging part of the club to.

You could probably but about 5 extra rooms easily into xtasia without losing any of the dance floor or area of bar that is used. That corner seating area is hardly used, everyone is either by the bar, on dance floor or in smoking room - they have a quiet sit down area upstairs if you want to get out of the music, Which would give that extra spice that while everyone is dancing, and drinking and chatting around the bar area, a bunch of cage style rooms(so you can be watched but control access could be in full use for all to see. Imagine the sexiness of dancing with some sexy peeps - only to drag them off straight into one of those rooms for some naughty fun. Rather than what can happen is saying let's go and play and finding yourselves wandering to the other end of the club, then back upstairs, then back down again . Trying to find a room to play in that isn't occupied by one couple having a argument lol . (Trust me that's a rather moment killing experience we've add)

Flirts/purgatory we don't really get, it seems it's under used, and again if joined to the main club, when there was a big fetish night on it could be segregatted, but on other nights when it not really being utilised could be accessible to main club, which could release other areas in club for development again.

We ageee midlands is great for clubs, and want it to stay that way... I suppose we just see potential to make two of the best clubs even better and give even more choice and probably make both even busier!

One area you didn't mention was the cinema room at xtasia downstairs corridor off from the jacuzzi room which is another quite large play area.

The seating area by the dance floor that you mention in the corner has been curtained off now with the seats still there and a lap dance pole in the middle. It is more private with the curtain across so is another potential play area.

I personally was not a fan of seeing guys with their jeans round their ankles Fucking a woman with her skirt hitched up. Felt a bit seedy to me but it is obviously popular with people who don't want to wander around in their underwear seeing people play wherever they like. Horses for courses and all that jazz

There is also a fairly large playroom at the end of the upstairs lounge. Think it's couples only on mixed nights. Nice multilevel design. Probably get 15 - 20 couples in there.

I think it's good that there different types of clubs. It's give us more choice.

They use flirts for fetish events on the weekends which I have been to a few and have enjoyed.

+1 I didn't get the half dressed fucking, then people wandering around looking for their lost change, knickers or socks. Really off putting in the couples room, or orgy bed area.

Lol yes - or just a club the physical size of XTASIA could just find they could make it have something for everyone.

Just a reorganisation of the space - some better rooms, and then you'd have the mix of dance floor bar, and nightclub vibe but with some better and more play areas, and not feel like you've got to say right that's the dancing done now...lets go walk the entire length of the club to find if there anything going on, I suppose it's the fact the club as the space, as apposed to criticising some other club that couldn't actually do anything about it because of physical space.

Oh well we shall still pop along there for one of their busy nights no doubt, but think Chams with the cage rooms, now the new disco room, 2 jacuzzis, and the ability to not feel like you had to walk into a play area so must be playing wins over XTASIA for now. But like both clubs always good to continue to see them both be here and both hopefully continue to improve and develop to make a night in a club always an adventure.

Lol yes or then them all standing in the corridor having a conversation about the last episode of eastenders or the state of the economy while they work out if their socks are inside out!

The dressing thing for my missus doesn't differ in either club - she wears same type of outfits in both generally, for me as a male quite happy in a towel and makes it easier, but equally not bother me being dressed, other than the annoyance as above, but once you found a room fairly easy to strip off.. to us it's just the lack of areas to play, and also the fact they are so scattered away from everything else and crammed into the smallest space of the club. Just think they could really do lot more with the space they have and still keep the different vibe and environment the club has have Chams that some people like.
