We don't like the dress down rules where you are forced to undress at a certain time or in the playrooms (why we enjoy abfab) however we are looking to go out tonight in the Northwest but all listed clubs seem to have strict dress down policies...anyone have any ideas?

Townhouse on a fet night? You don't have to dress down but there is a fetish dress code in place. So you were black or fet attire.

You don't have to dress down on their ground floor regardless of any event but you do in the playrooms on a swinging night.

I quite often don't dress down at all at Townhouse if I'm there to just socialise in an evening.

As mentioned above the fet nights don't have a dress down rule at all.

Cupids is dress down on arrival.

You don't have to dress down straight away in Partners, Amour, Townhouse, Decadence or No 3.

Partners you can stay dressed all night in the lounge/bar area, dress down is only required in the play areas.

Darlington

I don't like dressing down either, I don't see why it is necessary for people to parade around in dress down, do they get me wrong I love seeing confident women dress down but I am not one of those women and it just makes me feel self conscious the club we go to isn't to strict on it but we planning a visit to different club and they really so I am a bit nervous about it x

If you ever travel down to Beds/Cambs way we are not a dress down club. We dont believe in telling people what to wear and when , we are a big club with hot tub, dance floor 8 playrooms and large play area's to much to mention. Hopefully you will check us out one day x

So you don't have a dress down policy in the play rooms either? Me and my partner love having fun in front of or involving others but enjoy looking nice and towels are not the most flattering of outfits ??

No you don't have to dress down in the play rooms, wear what you want where you want, fully dressed, lingerie or nude.

I'm pretty sure they have one night a week that they class as a social and you don't need to dress down. I've been to Cupids twice and not had to dress down. Don't know if that's still a current thing.

I'd check with whichever club you fancy. They all have different versions of dressing down. I know in the clubs I go to, they allow me to wear fetish wear or club wear rather than underwear and towels. I'd speak to them directly and tell them what you have in mind to wear.

I hate being made to dress down on arrival and like the option of staying fully clothed in the social areas. But I also agree that if I'm in lingerie in the play rooms, then I don't think it's fair others watching being fully dressed. Does make it feel seedy.

I went on a fancy dress night, which may be why it was a dress up night. I wouldn't see that club as being a dress down club, the only ones I see the point in dressing down are wet clubs. I'd rather see a man dressed up rather than boxers or a towel in an ordinary club.

I'm entirely unhappy with having to get into close to nothing in play areas. Ab Fab doesn't make you do it and it's not seedy at all. In fact, the whole "equal when naked" thing is absolutely ludicrous because I wouldn't say I would feel "equal" if I'm stood there and someone with the perfect body is right there too. It's clothes that allow us to feel comfortable and equal... the idea of someone who's comfortable enough to strip off immediately being uncomfortable with people who have clothes on is hugely ironic lol. It's so difficult to find places that simply don't force silly play area rules on you. Is it right that swinging clubs tell you how to dress, in a lifestyle that tells you to be yourself? :P Ah well, looks like we'll stick to places further away from the Northwest and go elsewhere. Shame Thanks for the replies! We're grateful

totally agree with what you are saying. I feel miles better dressed but the minute I'm exposed and all insecurities are exposed I don't feel sexy or attractive any longer, in private it's a bit different x

I have no problem with people remaining fully clothed in the social rooms. However I would find it awkward to be in playrooms dressed down or naked and people walking round all dressed up.

I don't think it unreasonable to say dress down in the playrooms. After all your going to them to play.

Have any of these clubs got a car park? We just find it easier to drive and not messing about parking is a big bonus

Well, we don't agree about the play rooms thing but I suppose each to their own. There's plenty to be said for staying clothed but having items removed to play. Panties to the side, torn off or a dress pulled down, or unzipped and playing without taking it all off. It's just so invasive so we decided we won't be going to any clubs to play up here. Decadance, for the record, is just a nice place to go for a few drinks regardless so we will go there as Mandy who runs it is just lovely. But there will unlikely be any play for us at any dress down clubs. Plenty down south without the rule.

It's all good, we're happy to take our "business" elsewhere lol. We went to a lap dance club tonight in the end, had a great night, then headed to Decadance just for a couple of drinks to chill out, then drove up to a secluded car park and lay on the bonnet of the car and had some great fun. Yes, the bonnet was cold... no, it wasn't cold enough to distract :P

This is a issue we have about our 1st club, we don't want 1 were you have to walk in and undress almost immediately when just socialising, not the most secure about my body obviously once playing and kept busy in sure is forget about it but don't want to sit around naked all floores on show. We were looking at quest or le chambre if anyone can shed some light on there policy

At amour we have a dress down about 10.30-11. It's hard enough plucking the courage up to go into a club without the " get yer kit off " straight away. Most nights half the people are first timers to the club

I agree with townhouse or amour.

I like townhouse for specifically that reason, that the ground floor is a lovely social bar area so you can remain clothed for as long as you like.

Cupids is dress down on entry, which can be overwhelming for first timers, especially women alone like me.

Dress down is as you feel comfortable bke, there are some lovely lacy dresses etc that aren't too revealing

I always tend to dress down immediately anyhow. However if a club did not enforce dress down in play areas then I wouldn't go. Nothing equal about playing and being gawped at by pepole who are fully clothed.

Maybe you would like to give Decadance in Rochdale a try, it has a no dress down policy all the time. You only dress down as and when you please.

It is a wonderful club which I have been in many times, so very friendly and accomodating. I am sure you will love it there.

Hope this helps you. John.

Dare i say it - Atlantis doesn't enforce dress down - and not too far from Manchester.

Dress down in play area was our 'negative' on Libs. We prefer to undress whilst playing. Its part of the fun .. unwrapping the presents !
