TOWELS - Like last year, visitors to the Festival of Fun need to bring their own towels. On most party nights at VA's the club supplies nice white towels as part of the entrance fee but with so many people visiting over the weekend, it would just be impossible to wash and dry so many towels, especially with everything else going on. Some will be available for sale for anyone that forgets but generally, visitors need to bring their own. The club's towels are white, so it would make sense for guests bringing their own to choose another colour that is easily recognised.

This is true but the club itself is open so all the indoors to enjoy plus the blow up marque is well protected from prying eyes!

Add a river on two sides, a1 on another and private land the other and it is getting harder to get in for those without a ticket.....

This is true but the club itself is open so all the indoors to enjoy plus the blow up marque is well protected from prying eyes!

Add a river on two sides, a1 on another and private land the other and it is getting harder to get in for those without a ticket....."

SF was captured by telephoto lens, helicopter and a couple with a valid ticket who were a journo and photographer. It's not about people getting in without a ticket.

Having read all the comments, I think a few people are missing the point...,

One of the reasons that Swingfields made the headlines was because of where it was held and obviously there were some disgruntled locals... They try to make it all a bit 'shock, horror' that something was going on in an otherwise peaceful location... Not usually an area frequented by swinger events!

VA is a swingers club! So what would be the point of journalists/photographers trying to get a story on it.... It would hardly be seen as a big news to see swingers at a swinger club! If so, why would they not do it before, especially as there are events taking place outside at other times of the year...

I'm sure the fantastic VA team will ensure that security is as good as it can be, and that everyone feels comfortable...

I feel very sorry for those caught up in the Swingfields fiasco but do feel the circumstances were different and the whole point of getting the story was because of where it was.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great time at FOF, I'm sure it will be a fantastic weekend!

The joke of it was, there were no disgruntled locals, they all seemed to find it quite amusing and their main concern was traffic increasing. Swinging in a swingers club isn't a shock, but it can be turned into salacious clap trap to appeal to the bored readers of the tabloids. It's no huge surprise that celebrities have sex, that still makes the so called "news".

The issue is and remains security. Pure and simple.

I was at that very same festival and like you have had serious misgivings about going to anything similar. Having said that I decided not to let it ruin my fun. Although I will be on alert and that little bit more careful about what I get up to in the open.

So I will be going to the Festival of Fun and I'm really looking forward to it.

Same here. We have been for last 2 Years and had awesome times but we have also been to Swingfields this year and last. Gutted as kids all shipped off to granny's and the motorhome is packed. But after our van was in the pics by said telephoto lens at SF16 we don't want to risk it. Shame as looks cracking guest list but we used up 8 of the 9 lives narrowly escaping SF. Really feel for the poor sods that didn't get away with it. Gutted gutted gutted....have fun guys

I need to ask you all a favour after the second year of shite with swingfields.

If anyone sees any forum posts about the privacy at the FOF is please pass on this info.

There are huge differences between swingfields and FOF, and this statement is by no means an attack on swingfields event.

The FOF is held in the private grounds of a licensed and registered venue, that adheres to all licensing, performance, alcohol, EHO and tax legislation.

We re not holding parties in locations that could cause offence to the general public, all attendees are registered members of the club and agree on application to a code of conduct.

We are of little interest to the press as headlines like

"Swingers invade sleepy village for a weekend of sex" are much more gutter press worthy than

" long established private members club hold a weekend party the same as every other weekend for 5 years and 6 months"

We have now held just shy of 1000 parties at the club and not a single incident of trouble. This is the fifth year of FOF and the press are so not interested in us that they report swingfields as being the longest running ( 1 year less than us) and the only outdoor event of its kind.....

We have a huge responsibility to our members as we cannot risk exposing them as unlike one off annual events we cannot simply pack up and disappear, we have to face you all week in week out, and without our members the fun at The VA would be over.

Sadly some ( not accusing swingfields at all) believe any publicity is good publicity, but we know the other attempt at a swingers country house festival last year actually invited the press in.....but he could, one event and has anyone heard of him since???

So, pick your party to suit your cloth and roll on FOF

coyote ugly was a film based on a true story about a bar owned and run by all ladys.

the film shows the bar staff in various sexy if not slightly slutty outfits and lots of dancing on the bar, it also depicts them as been strong or in control.

Themed dress code is there if people want to follow it, otherwise it's casual/sexy during the day and smart sexy at night. Foam party on Saturday night can get a bit messy so bring change of clothes if partaking.

For people camping, reception will be open from midday. The bar, hot tub and play rooms inside the club will be open from 8pm. Times will be different for the Country Kitchen outside.

Most people wear shorts and tee-shirt or sexy undies but some prefer nothing at all. It's all up to you but just remember to bring something else to change into after.

Someone contacted us about being unterested in a room for Friday and Saturday nught staying at the Travelodge up the road. Sorry but deleted your message by mistake, you had your party of friends staying at two seperate hotels and wanted to stay together.

I have rung Travelodge this morning and they can change the booking in name to whoever, this though has to ve done by us as we made the booking.

This is still available to anyone else who may want it.

Usually at VA's it's 'Dress to Impress' but for this year's festival we have the theme Coyote Ugly that many will be following. But theme aside, during the day almost anything goes whilst at night things move up a gear. Smart, sexy, as daring as you want. Remember, it gets messy in the foam so designer clothes are probably not a good idea.

It's always great to see so many people making a real effort with clothing especially considering at night, the clothes don't stay on too long anyway!
