VA Festival of fun 2016

Hi, never too soon to start planning our summer. Going to go to the festival of fun this year. Hoping to hear from others who have been before as to what to expect and to hear from anyone going. Will be a first for us, will be camping and looking forward to it already. Let's hope for a hot hot summer.

Further details will be shown on the VA website very soon. The location is The Vanilla Alternative in Tempsford, Bedfordshire.

I've been to the past 4 festivals and it's a whole weekend of socialising and fun both inside the main club and outside in the extensive grounds. People start arriving on Friday afternoon in preparation for the first party on Friday night. The fun continues throughout Saturday and culminates in another party in the massive inflatable marquee and main club that evening, which goes on well into the early hours of Sunday morning.

It's just a well organised, fun weekend for like minded people to share a few days together. Roll on August!

We are mental busy now right up until swingfields at the end of June so probably not to be honest. But if we go which is doubtful it will be 25th June. I think 2qst may will be our last visit until after swingfields though tbh.

Unfortunately all the on-site hotel rooms sold out soon after last year's festival but there are several hotels in a range of price bands quite close. Details are in the FAQ section of the club's website.

In previous years I think I am right in saying that camping fees have been paid as visitors arrive but it might be best to check with the club when you reserve tickets.

Yeah loads of people go....hundreds! The local hotels are booked, the camping area gets pretty busy and people just attend for the day/evening! Great atmosphere and everyone is friendly!

The foam party is optional.

For the Festival a large (very large) gazebo is placed outside which usually has a live band in it. Later in the night there's a foam party inside it. You can stay inside the gazebo and not go near the foam 'pit' or just stay in the club, which is operating as normal, if foam isn't your thing.

Friday daytime is just people setting up tents etc.

If you can only do one day then pick Saturday, it's definitely the best day.

Yes. Just go on the VA website and you can register from there. You will need to bring some ID on your first visit.

TOWELS - Like last year, visitors to the Festival of Fun need to bring their own towels. On most party nights at VA's the club supplies nice white towels as part of the entrance fee but with so many people visiting over the weekend, it would just be impossible to wash and dry so many towels, especially with everything else going on. Some will be available for sale for anyone that forgets but generally, visitors need to bring their own. The club's towels are white, so it would make sense for guests bringing their own to choose another colour that is easily recognised.

We have already spoken to the club. They are fully aware of everything that's going on and are on the case. It is completely different to recent issues as it is held within private club grounds so different rules and regulations apply and it's also not headline grabbing news as the club is long established and has held this type of event for years.

RE my original post. I am not saying that what happened at SF WILL happen at F of F I was saying we all need to be more aware now and stick together. We get judged so much by ppl who don't understand this lifestyle as it is. I'm sure all of the VA team have it all under control.

TOWELS - Like last year, visitors to the Festival of Fun need to bring their own towels. On most party nights at VA's the club supplies nice white towels as part of the entrance fee but with so many people visiting over the weekend, it would just be impossible to wash and dry so many towels, especially with everything else going on. Some will be available for sale for anyone that forgets but generally, visitors need to bring their own. The club's towels are white, so it would make sense for guests bringing their own to choose another colour that is easily recognised.

Adding to Glitterbabe's comments. On both days the site is open from 12.00 but on Friday people are arriving and setting up their tents etc. Saturday afternoon is much more laid back with people chilling, socialising and taking part in the fun and games.
