We have never been with anyone else outside of our marriage, decided to take the plunge and have chosen to visit a swingers club as our first experience.........what advice would you give us?

Set your boundaries for the night before you go. Only plan to relax and socialise and anything else up to boundary is a bonus. Wear something you're comfy in. Don't get d*unk. Stay by the bar as it's easier to chat with others. Go early to get a good look round before it gets busy.

for me the clubs i have been to are like nice bars that just happen to have spaces for you explore your fantasys with like minded people so the first thing i would advise is have a good chat beforehand about your individual expectations and what boundaries you would like to put in place this will help you avoid the OMG i cant believe you did that moments that can sometimes happen when you first start swinging

take your time relax and don't drink too much dutch courage is fine but excessive alcohol and swinging are not a good mix you can end up doing things you are not so happy with later

have a good look round the club and don't think you have to rush into anything or are expected to play on your first visit swinging is as much about being social as it is about sex

that said don't be shy let the staff know your newbies because they know the regulars and can help you settle in

just be yourselves guys be friendly say hi to people and have a chat we don't bite and are all like minded and have been there as nervous newbies ourselves

If you`ve asked to join someone or do something you`re not sure of, don`t be afraid of replying with a polite "no". If they persist, be firm and they`re annoying you, don`t be afraid of reporting it to the club straight away!

You'll not go far wrong with this advice. It is what I would have written. That and No means No, don't be frightened to use it politely, oh and probably best go on a couples and ladies night for the first time unless you specifically want single guys...

great advice there off phoenix cpls n ladies nights are fabulous for newbies because they tend to be more relaxed with lots of opportunity to chat with others.

The NO means NO is also very important and clubs take this policy very seriously as no one likes to be pestered and a polite no thankyou will usually work that said informing staff of anything that's upset or made you feel uncomfortable is also important as clubs can only deal with issues if they are raised at the time they are not mind readers and the comfort and safety of their patrons is always their priority

but don't make the safe word something too random.....because if you for example say "elephant" in the middle of proceedings, we all know....

Some great advise here. Only thing I would add is be social and don't to shy to speak to people. I've been to a club a few times and there's always been a line of people just standing around not speaking to anyone.

Good advice from all previous posters.

Treat it like a night out somewhere different. You're probably going to end up slightly 'deer in headlights '. Chat to people - they won't leap on you and make you have sex with them.

Maybe just play with each other if the mood takes you.

The second trip is more like the one when things start to fall into place.

Good advice already and definitely don't be afraid to chat and tell people your newbies as well, most clubs have regulars who will always make you fell welcome without any ulterior motive other than wanting others to enjoy their fav club...

Most important hope you have an awesome first visit

I've also not as yet been to a club.. been to a party which one assumes is very similar.

This may seem very amateurish... however I won't know if I don't ask.

What do you need to take with you to any club? Do I need towels ?? answers appreciated people

All depends on the club really. For example, Kestrels and Divino's provide towels for you to use so all you need to bring is yourself, cash and the appropriate protection. It usually says what you need on the club's home page or FAQ.

Also, some clubs have a "bring your own booze" facility but most, if not all, will get a bit upset if you bring your own bottled water/soft drinks. In my experience, those that provide hot drinks/water/soft drinks don`t charge a great deal more for them that you would pay outside!

The missus and I are very very new to this site and indeed this scene..

We initially just wanted another F to join us in a hotel, but we're swaying towards the idea of jumping in at the deep end and going to a club.

Some good advice on this thread and we will for sure take it on board.

Out of curiosity though. Does there tend to be younger people at these clubs too? More in our age range (20's)??

Some clubs like Xtasia and Friday club lend themselves to attracting a younger age-group but generally it's a balanced mix depending on where you go.

There are regular age orientated events popping up on the forums though...
