"Was this at the Corn Exchange?" It was in Blackfriars St just by Chapel St. We went once and we're glad it wasn't our first club or it would have been our last.

"Wow, must be 15 years ago I went there, there was another not far away Eurostar or something " Eurostar was near Strangeways. It moved to Rochdale Rd as Club Manchester but closed many years ago.

"Wow, must be 15 years ago I went there, there was another not far away Eurostar or something Eurostar was near Strangeways. It moved to Rochdale Rd as Club Manchester but closed many years ago." Oh my goodness the Rochdale Rd venue was scary. I'm surprised the venue is still standing.

"Faint recollection of a club in Manchester called "Boardrooms" or is memory playing tricks ?" No your memory is fine. It was the Boardroom in Salford. I (Mr) used to go there as a single guy in the early 90's and then later as a couple with my ex. It was about as down market as you could get but had a certain appeal about it, mostly lots of sex The owner (Billy if I remember correctly) had his boxing gym in a back room and there was a gap of some sort between the buildings and he bridged it with an old railway carriage connection. Always used to wobble a bit as you walked across it Must have been going for a few years though because I can remember it as late as 1999/2000

"Another one from that era was Connections on Ashton New Road...." Now correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Connections run by the guy who was originally at the Boardroom, and who also set up another club (name escapes me) in between times as well. All those clubs had the same style, "working sauna" til 8pm and then a swingers club in the evenings, with Couples only on a Friday and Couples + Singles on a Saturday. Connections was excellent, and Xanadu really wasn't able to compete for as long as Connections was going as, as has been said above, people voted with their feet.

"Yes, there was place called The Toucan, about half a mile from Cupids, but I think it was a 'parlour' rather than a club like Cupids. Has been closed for several years now I think,. All this thread is a real walk down memory lane " Toucan was just a massage parlour. In another lifetime I worked there, those stairs were a nightmare in killer/stripper heels!
