Elite Retreat - Bristol

The sauna in Bristol seems to be advertising a swingers/bi day this Thursday. Is anyone else thinking of heading down?

Have you been there before??

I've been lead to believe that it's normally a 100% male sauna so I'm wondering how many women they'd be likely to get in and how bi it'll actually be.

I work just around the corner and hear about the place all the time but never heard of women going in yet though I could well be wrong.

It appears that this is the first time that they're doing it so the chances of it being populated entirely with men are high I think. Never been before though, hopefully be surprised.

Might be an idea if they set up a page on here. Then folks can now what's going on. If they're just relying on word of mouth then I might give that a miss till it picks up.

Just Googled them it's a male sauna mainly and every 3rd Thurs it's bi/swingers, if that helps .

Just looked on their website the first swingers night is going to be this Thursday. It's open to couples & singles & because it's a gay male venue normally it's much cheaper for single guys than couples. The emphasis is on bi-sexual so whether straight single guys or straight guys as part of a couple will be admitted remains to be seen, hopefully there's no entrance exam for that lol!!

This is not going to be the swingers venue Bristol so desperately needs, but admire anyone trying to make a space for us. Good luck & please don't make it a bi-only venue.

Yep. I popped along late afternoon...probably never going again. If there was a "swingers" event on then the staff were completely unaware of it, and it was all me, but none of that is a huge problem.

The place, however, needs some serious cash throwing at it before it becomes an even remotely enjoyable establishment at which to while away a few hours. Run down, one working shower, and what is seemingly a common aspect amongst Bristol clubs, bloody freezing. It's a sauna and it was still cold except in the steam room.

That's a shame but thanks for the heads up we'll take your word for it & won't visit particularly if the staff knew nothing of it being a swingers night. Don't understand how it's ok as a gay venue, or is it not being supported, or is it just swingers have expect'demand higher standards from clubs etc?

It's not really OK as a gay sauna. It's a dive, and I'm fairly sure people only go through lack of choice; I think there's only one other in Bristol.

It was a real shame that they made zero effort.

Holding it on a Thursday was a bad idea from the start.

They did nothing to publicise it and didn't want to put there gay male regulars off by allowing them to still come in.

Hold it on a Friday or Saturday and we might be interested.
