Am I right in thinking that LeBoudoir doesn't accept overweight people? I'm a size 20 so assuming I'll be rejected?

Depends what they define as over weight!!! To some they see a size 12 as over weight...shocking that they even put those restrictions in place !! Sexiness comes in all shapes and sizes xx

I just don't want to turn up and be surrounded by people much thinner than me!

Best to contact the club direct and ask, never known of those type of restrictions but then I'm our senile state may have missed something

It says on their website that they don't want 'obese' people

registration is merely an application and does not automatically guarantee membership acceptance with Le Boudoir, London. We are not all super models, but we expect our members to be in good shape and not obese, clean and well presented. If you do not appear to take care of yourself, do not be surprised if your application is not successful. If you arrive and do not resemble your application photo you may be refused membership and admission.

Well there are plenty of other clubs in London, if you have doubts now, then even if they accept your application you may feel a little uneasy going x

I know what you mean ...isnt it funny they have put not looking after yourself in the same bracket as being big !! I have seen some awful looking people who clearly need to sort them selves out and they are a size 10...equally some who are a size 20 who are as rough as lol !!

I think If a club puts such stipulations on their type of cliental they want through their doors it shows them to be arrogant and up their own slim back sides ..so would you really want to go there ?? Xx

Totally agree, and frankly I am shocked that they put overweight with not looking after yourself .... I am not sure if they weigh people and have a chart to determine who is obese, clinically or what definition they use .... there are many other clubs around, and ones which don't judge or label people ...

I would like to see their selection process lol !! Never mind about if you have a face like shrek ...just aslong as your not "obese" ..!!!!(shocking)

Absolutely there will be other clubs that embrace all shapes and sizes and not be so shallow and narrow minded x

Who is to say that Shrek is ugly anyway. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder .... and I dont think anyone should dictate who anyone else can swing with. We have voted with our feet ... simple.

A couple of observations...

1. You don't get fat by accident (whereas your looks are a lottery of birth). It's calories in vs calories out....those who are overweight have had more of the former vs. the latter.

2. We ourselves *would* swing with ahem "aesthetically challenged" slim couples ....but not fat couples - so it's heartening that there are clubs out & about that have such selection criteria (& after all there are plenty of swing clubs that have BBW nights)

Thing is, I don't disagree with what they're doing. Just unfortunate if I don't fit their criteria because I'm overweight, I'd love to be in a club surrounded by majorly hot people!

I think you will find that some people do indeed get 'fat' because of medical issues, such as an interactive thyroid. Some people just eat too much chocolate ... saying that, must change our profile picture.

They do ask for face photos as well with your application so I guess you have to be good looking AND athletic!

Yes, but by whose standards? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, surely? I dont think we all have the same decision of what good looking is, do we? I personally do not find slimmer figures attractive ....

I registered and attended yesterday - by far the best club I have been to. It was the cleanest and most classy club and the facilities and decor are great. The members were attractive and I would say a variety of sizes but no one was hugely overweight. I cannot wait to go back on a Friday for single male night

Amazing how some people including the OP set there own criteria "young and hot" for example, but moan when others set criteria that they don't fit into

Double standards......mmmm

Yep, fat people of the world collectively rejoice at the old chestnut!

There's a website that ridicules the notion google thyroidbullshit

...alas, overweight people are mainly overwieight becuase they ate too much & did absolutely jack shit exercise. But it is a personal choice (it can be reversed)....unlike being a minger.

Have you suffered from an underactive thyroid? Are you medically trained? Do you know the side effects and how it slows your metabolism down? Obviously it is not a condition than can be faked, and its serious to the extent that people with the condition get their medication free on the NHS ... hardly something to rejoice about, having a long term health condition ... but there is ugliness everywhere, you are right about that one

I wasn't saying it doesn't exist....but it's oh so convenient for rotund people to say "It's my thyroid ....it's under-active" (i.e. far easier to say than "I eat way too many pies & couch surf every night")

Check in their handbag/pocket and see what dosage they are on? Call their doctor and see if its stable ... my thyroid is just about in balance, so my weight is okay now, but the condition is really serious.

I have had long periods of finding it hard to stay awake, dry skin, aching joints and had it misdiagnosed. It mimics the symptoms of depression, and I am sure you could take excess thyroid to lose weight.

Many people on thyroid cannot take any supplements and have to be careful what they eat ...

Lol honestly ...such assumptions you make and actually quite rude !!! ..so are we to assume that every under weight person is sticking their fingers down their throat after every meal or never eats a proper meal !! Absolutely not and to make such a sweeping statement is laughable ...people are the way they are for hundreds of reasons..Some medical ..Some by choice ..some through just bad luck !! And some we will never know the answers too ...shame such a liberal site has people on with a blinkered way of thinking !!

Anyway off to surf that couch and eat my way through the fridge !!!

"Young and hot" as an example!

The point is everyone has criteria and we all set our own, so when we don't fit into someone else's we just accept it and move on.
