sameplace & Paradise Club which is better for cpls on weekends

Hey im heading to Amsterdam in January and we're looking to go to a couples nights in sameplace or paradise club in friday and Saturday night. Which place is better and why.

As much detail as possible is appreciated. This will be our first time in a swx club

Sameplace definitely, it was busy, friendly, very inexpensive, clean, good size and has its own very reasonably priced taxi. Paradise wasn't paradise, hardly any couples, lots of single men following like sheep, smelly dirty playrooms and cold pool. We wouldn't go back there.

We have only been to Sameplace.

From what we gathered, one or two of the other clubs shut early, so people go onto Sameplace...

Unfortunately we were knackered and left just after midnight, when it starts getting busy.

The bar has a minimum spend, you are given a bar tab, so settle your bill at the end rather than paying for each round... So be careful as it's easy to lose track...

I would say it's slightly seedy but in a good way...

I don't think they do a couples only night. It's always been mixed when we've been there but the single guys have always been polite and non-pushy. Learn the Dutch for no and you're sound. It's our favourite Dutch club although we've not been over for a few years now.

great thanks for that. What did you like about.Would you think its fine for a first tome couple. Anyone been to showboat?

If you're looking for a 'regular' club then Showboat is a better bet. Much more of a mainstream feel to it, it is mixed but whenever we've been the couples have far outnumbered the single guys.

We like the slightly seedy and kinky feel to Sameplace but if you can get out to the Showboat then that is probably a better bet for first timers. About the same distance in the other direction is Fata Morgana which doesn't allow single guys in.

Neither Showboat or Fata will be cheap by cab, probably 45-50 euros each way. Ring the Showboat and get their cab driver to pick you up if you're going there.

Ok we have decided on sameplace it seems more central. We plan yo stay near by to cut down on needless taxis.

Im going to try sameplace on the 22nd, a Tuesday. Looking forward to it! So what is the Dutch for 'no' then? Sounds like a key word to learn although I bet many visitors are tourists and not locals!

Being honest, we have only meet two people in Holland that didn't speak English...

Unfortunately they were both bus drivers when we didn't know which bus stop we needed...lol

Well, I went there this week (Tuesday) and was very disappointed. A fair crowd turned up as the evening went on but no one did anything! People were just sitting round the bar or going in the smoking box, you could have been in any pub apart from the fact there was some porn on the TV. Eventually one couple went downstairs but even then they have this rule where the guy has to give you the ok to go down, so there were lots of frustrated guys having to wait. I'd been there a while so he let me go down but the couple didn't get up to much of any interest or involve anyone else.

Another couple left without venturing away from the bar/smoking area, another sat on a bed for a bit but didn't seem keen to do anything, and I don't think the others even were planning anything.

A total waste of time, money and effort to get there/back (20 minute walk from the centre one way). You'd be better off just heading for the red light area, not even to pay for sex but just to wonder around in a fun atmosphere and I daresay, a less seedy one than Sameplace offered! Plus there are the usual peep shows or strip shows if you fancy seeing a bit of skin, which again was barely on offer at Sameplace. I'm sure I picked a bad night and there will have been much better nights there, however from other reviews I've seen it sounds like mine was far from an unusual experience. Avoid avoid avoid!
