Call me paranoid, you've got to wonder why any sex club would want your private details, it's not that your likely to steal or break their personal diy stuff and even if by chance an accident were to take place and you do break something, are they going to take you to court to recover there losses...

So why would they want your living Address, your first and last name, photo upload to there system...

No matter what excuse of reason they give... THINK PEOPLE...

I understand they wanting your email and photo ID at entry to see your age...

Let put it this way I know what I'm talking about... So people don't give your private details to non official bodies, especially sex clubs...

I do wonder why they take all your personal details short of your bank statement - oh wait - I'm I've also been asked for that too - an underground secret company that give you none of their own details....think about it. Protection or collection. How do I know my private information is safe and why do they need such private information when we are all playing in the shadows. Why do I have to stand under the light while they hide in the dark.

Our details are leverage for their sinister reasons.

Radlett has the right idea you pay, you get in, have your fun, go home. No registration, no personal details exchanged. Mutual trust in a consenting adult entertainment environment.

You are covered by the data protection act, don't worry so much. The info I have given is public record anyway, you can find it on the census.

I broke a door at a club but didn't get taken to court. You can find out all sorts about people these days using the Internet

If you are referring to a swingers club and not a sex club and there is a difference it's more than likely a condition of there licence from the local authority and all good clubs will require this.

Plus it will always put a lot of people mind at ease that in case of an act of criminality people are traceable

I have no problem giving my details to clubs. As private members clubs they have to take the details I believe

ok, I've had this conversation LOADS!

A swingers club is not a sex club in the eyes of the law. A swingers club, needs to have permission to invite guests onto the premises to have sex with each other and walk around in public areas naked. There are other privileges with regards to deciding who gets in and for how much. To get this privilege we must be private members clubs. A private members club 'should' take your name and address to give you a membership card. It is a condition of our licence in most county councils. Not all clubs do this but I need to say that I have heard that the councils will be forced to tighten the reigns on some clubs who don't do this in the future.

As a fully licenced premises (we literally have a 9 different licences!) we must also have data protection policies and be registered with the ICO, which helps us to protect your data. Again, I know not all clubs do this but it will become compulsory soon enough.

So, unfortunately it is out of our hands but what I would be asking of your local club is how they handle your data to reassure you.

If the Club is classed as a private members Club and is licensed by the local authorities then the Club has to keep a list of the members.

Nothing sinister about it.

As in recent newspaper reports... the issue is not necessarily the data protection act.. its when the info falls into the wrong hands.. and am sure like most i would rather my email address go into the wrong hands instea of other personal details like address bank details etc

If it's a Sex club then go & enjoy yourselves. If it's a swinging club then enjoy it while it lasts. Those colouring outside the lines won't be around for long

nobody is forcing you to go. If you don't like giving the details they ask for the answer is simple.

I have an opinion on the level of reassurance that is achievable here.

"Call me paranoid"
OK

If a club didn't have the details of those who are on their premises, how would they be able to deal with any criminality? Return lost property? How would they notify family if a tragedy occurred?

Radlett where a tragic accident occurred and the identity of the gentleman had to be traced and consequently the family were not aware of his demise for several days? Oh yes... They have it spot on NOT

Get a grip. Nothing you are asked to disclose by a club Z above and beyond information that is openly available from public records.

you obviously don't want to give your details to a " sex club" some swingers don't like you to refer to it as this, its a meeting place for like minded people for dancing drinking and socialising oh and if you don't want to do anything you don't want to do ,don't do it ,simples ,clubs are an expensive and impersonal way of meeting people for SEX hugs

Any club or organisation that runs a legal establishment keeps those details now

It's for safety reasons if you don't like it don't go

They can also be asked by the police to show their member lists

Ok your paranoid. Lol.

If you knew half the stuff that is already on file about you, giving your name and address to a private members club would be the least of your concern.

Swingers clubs are not the new free masons.

Yep, your paranoid, if you don't want to give information that is actually public information then we would say you have something to hide and should not be attending clubs that are run professionally under a local council licensing agreement.

If someone, god forbid, has an accident/illness whilst in a club how would you expect your loved ones to know? As frightening as it is we all need to be identifiable

I personally think they should ask for a lot more info.

If I'm a single lady in a room with a man, I'd be more than a little perturbed to find out the hard way if he had a criminal record for assault and rape.

All clubs should be licenced and it's a requirement under the license to keep records and prove that everyone entering is over the age of 18. It's a legal requirement for the club's.

I feel safer giving details to a swingers club, knowing if something bad happened they'd be able to trace a rapist or what ever.
