little old town of Reading!

Hiya- planning a trip to Abfabs with a lady friend of mine, but neither of us drive! We are thinking of making our way from Reading to Heathrow airport by train, then getting a taxi from there. Is there an easier way that anyone knows of please? We would rather make our own way there than get a lift, so public transport would be the preferred option

Be warned, the taxis from the airport can be very expensive for just a short trip to Kestrels/abfabs.

From their own website

By Rail: The Heathrow Express service (which takes about 15 minutes) runs from London Paddington to Heathrow. Taxi from the airport to our venue takes about 10 minutes. There is also a regular service from London Waterloo to Staines which takes approximately 30-50 minutes. Taxi from Staines station to our venue takes about 10 minutes.

By Tube: The nearest underground tube station is Heathrow Terminal 5 on the Piccadilly Line. Taxi from the tube station to our venue takes about 10 minutes. Please check with Transport for London before travelling.

By Bus: We can be reached by bus number 441. It runs from Heathrow Terminal 5 and from Heathrow Central. Click here for Route Number 441 timetable.

Hull

Avoid taking the traditional Black Cabs from Heathrow for any destination other than into Central London.

That's because they are going out of their area and effectively can charge what they like.

Instead, see if you can find a minicab service from the area where Abfabs are who can collect you at the airport.

Twickenham

Take a train direct to Staines from Reading.

From there you can either get a minicab or else get the 441 bus towards Heathrow from Staines Bus Station.

Coventry

Also there's a local Travelodge nearby which is handy to stay at. Lots of other swingers there and a 24hr bar!

Travel lodge T5 is just five minutes away. Best to get local minicab number from abfabs reception as they do have local minicab servicing them. Hope you enjoy your visit.

Bristol Area

From Travelodge T5, a black cab was £9 to get there.

On the way back we got a mini cab company people carrier, and it was £12 between 4 of us. It's not hard to find other couples making the same journey and share the cost.

FYI You can get an Uber FROM Heathrow or Travelodge, but the club itself is outside the pickup area, so you can't get one on the way back!

Abfabs actually run a free service from the club to the Travelodge at T5, the actual Travelodge is listed as Heathrow terminal 5, closest minicab company is in Langley, Station Cars, avoid Heathrow taxis always ! they are looking for Central London trips not local ones.
