STI Testing and Food Bank @ Townhouse

Townhouse has had a very successful food bank now for over a year and we have managed to collect hundreds of kilos of goods from swingers and the local community who have started using us as a drop off point. As we get closer to Christmas, we are hoping for a surge in donations and this is here you come in!

Each time you come into the club, why don't you bring in a tin of beans or some dried pasta? We have a collection dumpster just by the entrance and you can place your donations in there on the way in. Our donations really are gratefully received and it gives something back to the community who have accepted us.

There are certain stipulations for the goods that are accepted, so any tinned goods with a good date, dried goods, anything powdered, long life milk, cereals, nappies, baby wipes, baby grows/vests, tampons/sanitory towels.

Townhouse is also a Terrence Higgins Trust drop in facility for anyone to come an get tested for STI's. We have been providing this service since last year and is very popular indeed. We do drop in's on some evenings too for guests who want to discretely and confidentially get tested. The next opportunity to get tested for a range of STI's is on Saturday 24th oct from 8.30pm. Please pass this date onto anyone who you know who may have chatted about getting tested recently, but who may not want to walk into a GUM clinic.

That is amazing, it's great that there is a real sense of community sprit there. I love the idea of the gum clinic, maybe this should be something other clubs can take inspiration from.

I knew about the GUM clinic which is a very good idea . The food bank is an outstanding achievement . Very well done guys xx

I am blatantly bumping this up to highlight to you all that Terrence Higgins trust are at Townhouse next Saturday 24th Oct to offer free STI TESTING!!! They are with us from 8.30pm and the tests are done privately in a closed area and on a first come first serve basis. They offer same night results too!

I have been tested on two previous occasions by the trust at the club and cannot praise them enough.

I found I had little time to go to clinics ( i really must go to a dr for the first time in 5 years soon) but with them in the building on a night out there really is no excuse.

I had lots of questions and the lady who tested me was amazing and answered them all. Knowledge is power and all that! I want to have sex with people other then my partner (who was there with me). How do I minimize the risks of sti's , what are the symptoms, what do I do if I suspect a symptom etc. The tests where quick with reassurance that if the worse case scenario happens they will support. Will have to get sitting through my kitchen cupboards.

The STI testing is so useful being on a club night. I have utilised this facility a couple of times now and plan on continuing to do so.
