Jacuzzi @ chameleons

Hi all chameleons customers,

We have recently converted to electric and one thing or another the jacuzzi's haven't been on correctly for over a week, we have one last modification to fit which will be tomorrow. So there will be no jacuzzi's on Thursday. Hopefully this will solve the bubble situation but it is a trial and error process.

To say thank you for bearing with us, we will be having a free BBQ at the club on the Sunday with all the facilities working correctly.

Have the jacuzzis been fixed now or is it as good as it gets? We were there last Sunday and the heat in there was unbearable due to the lack of cool air being blown into the jacuzzis. I also hated the fact you could see some guys wanking under the water. I know it happens but prefer not to see it in front of me while in trying to chill lol.

I have not been able to get down for a few weeks so have yet to experienc ethe new bubble-less environmnent. I guess anything is better than the cloud of chemical gas and sore throats/eyes that was starting to become the norm.

What has surprised me is the number of folk here posting that the jacuzzi is a major element of their reason for visiting. I thought it was just me that thought that way!. The wet area is definitely for me what sets the club way ahead of anywhere else I have visited

The jacuzzis are the only reason hubby and i go Chams, when we go we spend most of our time there and only venture out to get some food or drink and use a private room for fun. We can do the food, drink and fun bit at home or a hotel so if the jacuzzis aernt working then we wouldnt go !

Chams had become our favourite club with the new cage rooms, found xtasia to be bit limited with places to play(which is mad considering the size of the place) but we always love to split the night with a naughty session in the jacuzzi, before outfit change and more debauchery in the cage rooms or round room(don't get the whole private room at all - might as well stay at home!) but if the jacuzzis going to remain bubble less then we may be venturing more to xtasia, jacuzzi not as good there but it has bubbles!

Must admit the jacuzzi is a huge selling point for Chams

With less bubbles, I'm guessing it's a lot quieter, so any conversations are just echoed around the enclosed area - some might find that a little daunting and may sit there even more zombie like

Was there yesterday.

Yes, the bubbles are way less than they used to be. The temperature was good, the jets were fine, but not much in the way of bubbles.

However, the chemical mist is also gone. Usually I need to leave after about 15 minutes because my eyes are in pain - not at all an issue any more, at least for me.

Went to chams last night

Uummm

Underwhelming is all we can say

Yes much better smell ie lower chlorine smell but the movement of water is none existent

Yes you have the jets under water but nothing on the surface

Had a chat to staff on way out and they blamed new council guidelines lol...

Ie air in spas / hot tubs realise to much chlorine....

This is the only club we go to so have now hidden agenda

I does not look like they have any plans to improve what they have at the moment

A hot tub without air bubbles is just that. A bath....

We will still use this great club but feel that it's a step backwards

In view of what's on offer..

We have a hot spas tub at home so understand exactly what's involved in running one.

Its no where near as appealing now.

Yes there may be less of a chlorine smell but id prefer chlorine to luke warm water.

The new jet system is useless. Its just a luke warm bath.

Shame as it was fab before, many commented on the night how rubbish they were.

I didn't think the heat was much different, when I went Friday. Yea less bubbles, but seems nobody can be pleased. A lot moaned about the chlorine stinging their eyes before and wouldn't go in. Now the chlorine level has dropped (massively) people are moaning, because of lack of bubbles.

Some solutions go and don't go in the Jacuzzi, to then complain about it here. Go and enjoy the club because of the atmosphere and other areas to be used. Or just don't go at all.

However if they aren't very bubbly then we probably won't go Chams again as the jacuzzis are the main reason we go, in fact the more i think about i feel they are the only reason we go.

People don't go to kestrels and moan about the pool. Surely if the chlorine levels are lower and they are warm that's better than using them and coming out with stinging eyes and only being able to use them for a short time.

Can someone please clarify...on a previous visit to Chams, after some fondling around, a lady in the jacuzzi wanted to "sit on my lap" bareback, explaining that the chlorine in the water made it "safe". I declined the offer, but I wonder if this is a common tale and if it's true? It may be worth clarifying for anyone else lulled into a (false?) sense of security, especially if the chlorine levels have now reduced.

The irritant and smell isn't caused by too much chlorine, it's caused by chloramine from urine, sweat, skin etc. The busier the pool, the more irritants in the air, the churning water isn't the cause.

In actual fact, more chlorine would mean less irritation. How many of you have a soapy shower before jumping in the jacuzzi? Next to none, I imagine, despite there being a sign up telling you to do so IIRC.

If everyone did so, the nasty smell and irritated eyes would diminish considerably.

Also, if there was a decent ventilation system in there, the chloramines wouldn't build up to such levels.

If the atmosphere in there hasn't been so bad lately, it's because the jacuzzi hasn't been used so much.

As for the jets, I wonder how much they cost to run all night every night (even with regulated breaks)? Less people in the club, the less profit, and the more ways they are going to look to cut running costs. Even Stevie Wonder would be able to see the club is way quieter than it used to be, not so many years ago.

Ergo, despite all the nonsense about "council guidelines" (I'd love to see a copy of them) and changing energy supply (I'd also love to know what, exactly, "changing from gas to electric" entails and how it affects the price of fish) the gaffer isn't trousering as much cash as he used to, so the jacuzzi has to be wound down (along with the heating. Is the sauna still out of action? Is the steam room, not very steamy?). Hey, but I bet he's got a new Bentley though, so yay for him!

The only alternative reason would be that replacement pumps are a pretty penny, and someone can't bring himself to pony up a load of cash just yet.

TL;DR - The jacuzzi doesn't work like it did because profits are down, simple as that. Nothing technical, just pure economics (or "greed", if you prefer)

No still plenty people getting in without showering, maybe it was the bubbles lifting the odour up which affected the eyes.

All I can think, is less people using the Jacuzzis means guaranteed room for me! Bonus in my eyes

All this about no more Chlorine gas.

There should be NO chlorine gas in the first place if the dosing system and the Ph balance is correct.

The water should be checked and additional dosing added to either reduce or increase the Ph levels in the water.

Chlorine gas only occurs from Dead Chlorine.

A Heated Spa/ Jacuzzi should be using Bromine anyhow not Chlorine.

Plus

The facination of clear water ??

It should be clear 100%

If its not Clear its NOT Clean.

In reply to this I don't know a lot about Jacuzzis but I do know as all that uses the Jacuzzis at chams that staff check the water constantly.. and believe me I stay over when I come over and the staff clean them Jacuzzis every night.. which I say well done to them cos that's a job I would definitely not want to do.. "All this about no more Chlorine gas.
