We came across this club last night whilst searching for our next adventure it seems pretty new! Has anyone been there or had any experience of it? It's pretty expensive but looks like a classy place, it's called the Vanilla Alternative in Bedford. Thanks

The Vanilla Alternative has been open for over 4 years and is a wonderful, upmarket club drawing visitors from all over the country. It has a massive hot tub and 12 on-site hotel bedrooms.

I'm there most Friday nights when it's open for couples and singles (male and female. On Saturday nights it's couples and single ladies only. It attracts people of all ages.

I would recommend everyone that is into this lifestyle and likes clubs, to give VA's a try at least once.

We're semi-regulars (on my second loyalty card since August last year) at the VA. it's been there since 2011 (I think) but it's a fantastic venue. 14-person hot tub, plenty of play areas. Plus the clientele are closer to our age and physicality than other clubs we've been to.

Highly recommended.

I've been and it's v reasonable plus drinks dead cheap at the bar, had a skinful and the bill was peanuts.Hot tub great, bedrooms reasonably priced, very clean and well kept.

I'm sure we have seen more than 14 people in there before, however I think some people were sitting on laps

Great club, we really enjoy it

We love VA. The only thing that is missing there for us are private play areas.

7th and 8th August is the annual Vanilla Alternative Festival of Fun. Having been for the last 2 years I can report that it's a very busy but enjoyable couple of days with the highlights being the evening parties.

This year sees the PHUKT team providing the music so will be even better than previous.

There is also the pre-festival event on 24th and 25th July, again with entertainment by the PHUKT team.

We are heading to Liverpool from Belfast tomorrow until Monday and staying in the Wirral. First time in Liverpool so anyone have a rough idea how far away this place is from the Wirral? Geography not my strongest subject

It's around 180 miles and about 3 hours drive - M6, A14 and A1 but we'll worth it.

It's always nice to meet visitors from Northern Ireland at VA's. They often make use of the on-site hotel rooms and make a long weekend of it, attending both the Friday and Saturday night parties.

We're also there on Saturday 1st August and it will be our first experience of a club. We have heard good things about this place. Think they only have a limited number of rooms for staying over though so it's probably best to try to book in advance

Last 'normal' weekend coming up (Frisky Friday and Tantalise on Saturday) before the pre-festival party with the PHUKT team on 24th and 25th July.

Looking forward to seeing all my good VA friends before jetting off to the sun next week.

Seems like it's only for "slim" couples in their 30's to 40's. Sounds very close knit/clicky! Was thinking of trying it out but have decided not to now.

Near Leeds xx

We've been a couple of times, and met some lovely people. If you make an effort to chat with people (in any environment) then you generally have more interaction and therefore more fun.

Really nice club, with a huge hot tub. Play areas are nicely set out, and the bar is a good place for a chill or to get chatting.

Not sure how you made that assumption.

When we went all ages were represented and we didn't feel out of place.

Only reason we didn't do that much chatting is because we were to scared

Will let you know if people talk to us now we are less scared but still inexperienced when we go on the 1st

I'm sorry we've been a few times now and that assumption is miles off.

All ages, all sizes and body types and a great crowd. Been to loads and VA is by far our favorite.

Love the club but have found it very hit and miss, last time we went was really quiet... We have found it quite hard to get talking to people there, even after 7 visits ...

Every club, anywhere can be hit and miss, that's life, that's swinging, Every club everywhere has a broad range of clientele, I'm not sure a previous statement in this thread about ages and body sizes stands up at all as we've seen a broad range of sizes, ages at VA from age 20 to 60 and size 6 to 26 I'm sure that the perceived elitism is not true at all.

We would agree with this.... Our last visit was on a Friday and it was dead..still had fun though.

Back to Saturdays for us...Friday = Pink Punters, Saturday = VA = winning weekend of fun

Accom at VA is a bit basic tbh but functional... Last time we skipped it and stayed at the Travelodge down the road and, tbh, that was better (powerful shower, cleaner room etc)...taxi is naff all to and from the club.

The club, staff and clientele are all awesome and this has become our new fave...

Fun dance floor n pole etc + couples only room just off it

Have fun
