I have mostly been to clubs on my own in the past, except Xstasia where I have a joint fetish membership.

One of my partners and I want to head for to a few normal clubs for bi nights but we've been told it can be hard to get membership as you have to prove you're a couple.

How do we prove that we are a couple? We've been seeing each other for about three years now, but we don't live together, we're not engaged or married (yuk!) abd we don't have any paperwork with both our names on for anything.

We enjoy playing with other people as well and are worried they'll try and charge him single man entry because of that.

Thoughts?

We've been to quite a few clubs around the country and never been asked to prove we're a 'real couple'.

Only one club in the north that we know of that has a policy of checking couple status. Not sure how they do it though as we've never been back since our first visit, as we didn't like it.

I've been to a few clubs with my former fwb and we were never asked to prove we were a couple so I don't think clubs too. I would say its those that attend clubs as lots of couples won't play with couples who are fb's

If you're referring to the 'yuk' it was supposed to be a daft reflection on the fact that I wouldn't marry him if you paid me...

That's good to know as it's one of the places on our list.

We explained our situation when we joined at Xstasia, but I wondered if there was more leeway given because it was the fetish membership (and it seems more common for kink couples to live apart and be in other relationships).

I remember sitting down with him one day when he was going through a rough patch with his nesting partner and saying to him 'I think you're great. I really do. But I'm glad you're financially solvent because if you turned up on my doorstep and expected to stay longer than a week we'd have a big fucking problem.'

I have been to Chams many times with various guys who i don't live with nor share any bills with and have never been asked for any evidence that we are a proper couple (whatever one of those is !).

I have also been many times with my husband and only once have we been asked for our membership card which they gave us a long time ago with no evidence we lived together.

We don't have any bills with both our names on except for our mortgage so they have never had any evidence from us that we are a proper couple.

That's good to know as it's one of the places on our list.

When Fox and I joined Xtasia we weren't living together and weren't in a relationship.

Things have obviously changed since - but there was no problem getting couples membership.

Surely it would be best to contact the club in advance to see what there policy is. Every club I've seen has an email address or phone number. Building some kind of relationship with the people that run the clubs may help them to be more open to your situation as they understand you more.

How can you prove you're a real couple? I don't understand how this can be done? We have some events like Fab socials where we bring people in as couples if they have a joint profile on Fab, but not everyone is on Fab. So how on earth could this be proven?

Well in vanilla world all you would have to do to prove you're a couple is kiss each other! That'll work at a swingers club too right? Who would want to kiss someone who wasn't their partner?

I've only ever known it be a problem at 2 clubs and those cubs restricted the number of single guys. So on those nights you have to be a so called proper couple to prevent single guys tagging onto a female in order to get past those restrictions. The majority of clubs don't mind.

We have experienced this on two occasions, one at a private member events where my bf had gone along as a single before - think this is because they wanted his payment to stay at that rate and another when I stated that I probably would not play, as I never guarantee I can. Couple of other clubs we go to, abfabs, arousal and bi kink, no problems, and we know the guys who run the latter pretty well as it is such a personal venue and anyone who knows us can see we are a 'real' couple in the truly vanilla sense of the word. No problems at MSD or EWS either. Seems it is sometimes easier in the real world to prove you are a couple than in the swinging world. It used to bother me, now our relationship outside of swinging is more important and if people don't accept us, it tells us more about them than it does about us.

We've been to several clubs and have never heard of this rule. From the discussion on the forums rhere is only one club that seems to do this, certainly as far as I can tell it's not common place
