Vanilla Alternative Hotel

Has anyone here stayed in the hotel during a club?

What's it like?

Obviously we want to attend the club too, but wondered if we should stay there or a local hotel as having problems getting hold of VA to book.

We stay there most times we visit. Very handy. Their office is shut Mon/Tues I think. We usually find Thursday-Sunday best to get hold of them or e-mail xx

Rooms are fine and it's great to freshen up in private too!Last time we went we could't get a room as they were all full and we were soo disappointed! VA is a lovely club. We've been a few times and wish it was closer! Enjoy!

Rooms and club are great you need to book early if you want one, plenty of hotels nearby as well, we'll be there Sunday

Our only issue with VA is the lack of private play spaces. Having a room on site solves this issue perfectly.

Stay at the hotel attached if you can. The rooms are pretty basic but the convenience and having somewhere orivate to play if you so wish, not to mention after the club closes activities are worth every penny!

At the festival of fun though it's worth camping next to us because that will be loads and loads of fun lol

The previous post mentioned The Festival of Fun. For those that might be interested, it is over the weekend of 7th/8th/9th August this year. Starts on Friday night and goes through to Sunday morning. Loads of people staying in the hotel rooms on site, camping and caravans on the outside areas, and people making full use of all the local hotels.

I've been to the last 2 and it really is a fun place to be. Bookings are already being taken at the club's reception.

well it might well be but why point score?for nearly everyone in swinging these days vanilla means non swingers i would say 99% would give this answer.

We have popped our cherry of swinging clubs with VA. We stayed in the hotel for a weekend. I would consider their rooms basic but clean and very useful as other fab have explained in previous posts. I will definitely book again next time we go. Xxx

As people have said, we're not staying for the room... Just the convenience.

The Vanilla Alternative is primarily a swingers club rather than primarily a fetish, name, toy, gay or lesbian club. I assume this is because you would go there for an Alternative to Vanilla sex with your own partner.

The Life on the Swing Set podcast, episode 77: Words Matter - Vanilla vs Swinging, polyamory, and Open [relationships] is a whole episode about it.

But Vanilla can be used in a much broader context to mean plain or boring. But within swinging I have only known it to mean monogamous people.

Have to say we went to VA last saturday, and trust us it has the WOW factor !!

The owners are amazing as are their family, and their hospitality to us was second to none !

As for the venue WOW ! Everything you could ask for and more, beautifully decorated, fantastic play areas and an awesome jacuzzi ( even though we didnt dip in this time ) Music was awesome and the DJ top notch.

We would highly recommend VA to anyone whether first timers or veterans lol, we will definitely be returning so watch the forums for some news on the festival of fun coming soon

How do you ask someone to play? Simple as "would you like to play/go to the play area?" After a bit of conversation?

Only you can take responsibility for your own sexual health. There are usually condoms around the place but why wouldn't you take your own and be sure you have what you want? We take our little swing kit with condoms, lube and other stuff we might need

Every man SHOULD supply his own condoms so that he has ones that he likes, that fit properly etc. But it's not a bad idea to have some back up ones as well.

In the VA, we generally find their are 3 stages: the clothed social, the hot tub, and the play time. So if you wanted to play with someone it would depend where you were in the night. For example if you were having a drink with them, after a while you could ask if they wanted to move the conversation to the hot tub, or get to know each other better in the hot tub. If you are already chatting in the hot tub you might ask if it's OK to touch or to kiss etc.

It's a great place, we really enjoy it there

We have a 'shag bag' as well lol

We like to use skyns because then you have any latex allergies covered as well

Lube is cool. Best policy is just ask. Be polite and spill it. We love that open honesty!

We're off tomorrow too, love the place but rarely get chance to go. The owners are really friendly and will give you a tour and explain etiquette but if you want a friendly face to say hello to we'll be down from about 9pm

Desperately want to go back but now car less so totally reliant on a lift there and back which makes it tricky.

As As others said you bring your own condoms to fit. I always take mine but always used the ones the guy has. He knows what fits him. Little bag of tricks is always with me. It now also has a small pack of wet wipes in too lol
