What Should Clubs And Parties Cost?

We are seeing so many threads on this forum with people, predominantly single m, complaining about club charges. Is it not time to reverse that and discuss how much people value a great night, with like minded people?

A Saturday night at the cinema these days is £20+, add a couple of cocktails each at £8-12....you're soon upto £50-60, and that's not London pricing, it's Leeds and Manchester. We know there are parties that are trying and potentially failing) to live upto their hype (Killing Kittens that means you) but the fact there's enough people prepared to take that avenue means there's definately a potential market.

As has been discussed many times, the problem is demand/supply....good couples want good sgl m, but too many is overpowering and off putting, once the couples avoid a place due to this it just makes it an even larger numbers imbalance. We love parties with a few extra Intellegent and articulate, sgl m. The problem is the knuckle draggers and whingers who believe that because they paid more to get in, they can stalk the rooms and have a crafty under towel tug!

We are therefore asking for SENSIBLE debate from couples and single m on the following subjects and questions..

1. If a party was fully inclusive of drinks, inc Champagnes/Cocktails and decent buffet food what should be the price point.

2. Assuming the price was the same for sgl males, should they be vetted on other criteria rather than the price difference.

Ps, Do us a favour sgl m, don't mail us directly saying how you are different to the rest, we want this to be an open discussion on this thread, and therefore any private mailing shows you didn't even get past the first bit and read to the end

I think it's up to clubs what they charge just like its up to people if they go.

I think it's impossible to say from the outside looking in and with such a huge variety of places to choose from. We have no idea of the actual costs of running each individual venue, they're businesses first and foremost and the owners have to make at least a living while paying staff, maintaining premises, paying the bills, publicity and all of the licences and insurances. I imagine that they vary enormously depending on the age of the building and the facilities provided. There is an old adage that something is only worth what people are prepared to pay for it so I suppose that comes into it too...

I'd proberbly pay £20-30 for a club night that allowed men to pay less money than they do now. I'm predominantly interested in men, not couples, so I want lots of choice.

Most of the fetish clubs I go to cost about £15-20 per person, and they don't seem to be drowning in single guys or a lack of couples (who pay double the single cost).

Oh and, I don't want drinks and food to be included. Eating food at a sex club is kind of disgusting.

And I don't drink. Not do I want to play with d*unk people.

Glad I live in Birmingham then...last visit to the cinema for two adults to see a new release was under £10 at the Showcase Cinema. Mind you, they don't serve cocktails there

They need to be intelligent and articulate to make sense of the mathematics and English grammar.

Am I a "single m" or a "sgl m"? If you can't be respectful enough to call a man a man, or a male a male, or a single male a single male, then how do you expect these abbreviated (albeit articulate and intelligent) individuals to take you seriously?

As for the inclusive drinks idea, and especially cocktails who goes to a swingers club for those? My guess is that people who are at a swingers club will be conscious of their "ability to perform" which alcohol does nothing to enhance, so people tend to be fairly basic and moderate with their consumption. Likewise for those who drive home afterwards, alcohol is a strict no-no anyway. I think you want two different worlds to collide here, without seeing that in reality that there are very good reasons why they haven't done so already.

If it helps the sensible debate though, if you go to Germany where the clubs are "all inclusive" (ex Champagne) then you're looking there at admission prices at the better clubs of €120-€150 for single men and €60 - €80 for couples.

Chameleons 2 in Newport tried to have a swingers evening without single guys..... it eventually failed!

Its a tough one on the prices. We go to the Vanilla Alternative and they have 2 regular nights

Fridays - Couples & Singles - Cpl £35, Women £15, Men £40 (non-member prices)

Saturdays - Couples & Single Women - Cpl £45, Women £15 (non-member prices)

I think (but correct me if you know differently) that on a Friday night they limit the number of single guys to 10, and you have to be pre-vetted, you can't just turn up on the door as a single guy.

Due to work schedules we go when we can which means sometimes a Friday, sometimes a Saturday. If we had to chose we would prefer a Saturday as we are not interested in single men, but of course you pay a little bit extra for not having the single men there.

I don't think that the prices are too much, for what is probably going to be a pretty fun night, but on the other hand, the last time we went we had an Exceptional night and we almost felt bad for getting in so cheaply!

We paid 250 Euros per ticket to see madame butterfly at the opera house in Barcelona. The 4 hours were worth every cent.

We paid 10 quid for a house party recently and left within a hour, nothing wrong with the party just wasn't for us. 20 pound wasted.

The point is value is down to the individual.

We would pay north of 150 per person for the right event.

We would like to find a high quality weekend, in an exclusive venue in the uk.

Secrets in the south west or vanilla alternative is the closest we know of in the uk.

La glamour in cap is the best we know of in Europe.

We are just average working people, we save and spend when we can, the opera left us short, but sometimes you can't miss out on an a amazing experience.
