Just wondering what it is used for. We have no problem giving it but something that came to our attention made us think.

Do clubs run names through sex offender register or anything... Or is it just solely used as a way to know who is in..

Think it's just to check age and you are who say are.

Example, if took I'll and paramedics needed, club owners can give details to paramedics.

Most clubs are 'private Members clubs' and need to keep a record of members to fulfil the terms of their licences. Some clubs do this, some don't.

We literally take info from ID for membership purposes only. We don't use them for anything else at all. The only time that membership details have been used for something else was when one person did a runner and didn't pay their large bar bill and we chased them down. The only other instance we would use info is if someone broke the law on the premises and the police got involved. So for instance, physical assault, drug taking etc... thankfully this just doesn't happen at our place!

Unless there is a child that you are worried about there is no possibility that you could access the sex offenders register. In the context of a swingers club this is obviously the case.

Sarah's Law does not apply.

We are required as an adult club to take a verifiable name and address ID for each individual joining the club. This is a requirement of the local authority.

As a private members club you need to do this too. Or I should say that in order to hold the status of 'Private Members' Club. You cannot claim this status (and it's protections) unless you do so.
