Little advice

So I've never been to a club night but it's high up on my to do list. Few questions though:

1) Where's good to go for a single guy in the Wiltshire area?

2) Are people genuinely friendly and chatty? I'm always looking to chat with new people and I would consider myself polite and whatnot but from what I've read a lot of people seem to be prearranging meets. Or is it a case of people do prearrange but that doesn't mean they won't play with those they meet on the day.

3) What sort of dress code is there for guys?

4) Genuinely would anyone mind if I accompany them to a club night.

Not sure about your area but have a look in the club reviews section. Most have links to the individual club's websites which will give you advice on dress code etc as they are all different.

All the clubs I have been to the folk have been friendly. Yes some have pre arranged meets but if you focus on the social aspect and go with no expectations I'm sure you will have a fine time.

As for taking someone to a club, some people are very wary. Personally I would never go to a club with a randomer off here. You never no what their behaviour will be like and it looks like you are a couple so people will see you as such. Good luck.

Agree with chellesterfem about finding clubs and dress code. Regarding taking someone, I have taken a couple of ladies on occasions, but always agreed with them we are there as individuals, not as a couple. I met both of them first at a club before agreeing to accompany them. They also paid for themselves. Although we made it clear we were not together, and agreed we played as singles, we were treated as a couple, so I am wary about doing it again.

Being friendly and laid back whilst socialising is the key and no expectations is essential. You may leave after no playing, but getting yourself known and verified will prove fruitful in the long run.

Good luck.

Some clubs don't take kindly to two people arriving as a couple and then finding them playing separately especially then ending up with a 'single' guy at a couples only night.

The Lodge in Gloucester is good. They have a policy of only 5 single guys. So you chances of play are better. They will also take you around the club and familiarise you with the rules. Dress code there is smart casual in the bar areas. No trainers or jeans. The same sort of clothes you would wear to a decent night club. I visited on a number of occasions under a previous profile and found them very welcoming. You may have to go to a social prior to being accepted for a club night, but these will get you verified too.Check them out on the club pages. I haven't been to the new venue yet. But its the same people running it.

Hello there

Have you tried Angels in Melksham? My husband and I went before the new year. I know it's approx. £20 for a couple to get in but not sure how much it would be for a single guy. This is a little out of your area but I know Route 69 in Weston Super Mare has a 'greedy girls' night every so often.
