We are looking to get back in to the swing of things in 2015 after a very quiet year, and are aiming to get ourselves out to some clubs.

Yes, we know it's entirely subjective, but what are the favourite places in the South West at the moment?

Although we've had meets before, when it comes to clubs we are definitely newbies as we've only been to a club once. That was The Lodge, and although it was very friendly and we had a great time we didn't find it to be exactly what we were after, maybe somewhere a little more glamorous? Once again, entirely subjective of course, so any advice gratefully received!

Also tried The (old) Lodge and liked it, but found Angels was easier for us to get to and really enjoyed it. DecadenceNights in Burnham is on our list as is Secrets. We get your point about Glamorous, dressing up for a night out is really important to us - Xtasia gets great write ups, but is a bit far.

Are you limiting yourself purely to the SW?

There aren't many clubs a stones throw from Bristol anymore - but with a bit of travelling (90 mins max!) you are spoilt for choice!

It'll depend largely on what you want from a club? Wet/dry? Open/private rooms? Couples/singles? Overnight accom/hotels nearby/driveable?

Give us a clue!

And don't forget - everyone will have personal favourites, reviews don't always come in 'impartial' flavours and what floats one couples boat may sink another!

I feel Gems is a very relaxed club ..no pressure to do anything ..just go get a feel for it and do as much or as little as you wish and at the same time make some new friends.

I've been to secrets purely because of location but really enjoyed it, the venue was great no pressure to play the hoists are great total eye opener the first time you go to a club, all those sexy ppl xx

We would thoroughly recommend Angels as a first time club. Great place for a social evening, with excellent people and facilities if you decide you fancy more.

I would def recommend angels such I lovely place everyone so friendly and the owners are so caring great place to go x

Angels is worth a trip, been there a few times and its always had a good night. also Dec's in Burnham is good if you want a chilled house party to go to.

Where ever you land up going, go with an open mind and try and chat to as many people as possible xx

No, we're not limiting ourselves strictly to the South West, but it seems like a good place to start! We're happy to travel though, so understand that people will say Chams / Xtasia mainly.

We are ideally looking to meet a single woman at a club, but as the likelihood of that is slim, we are just going to see how things go. Private rooms to begin with probably...and dry for preference.

There have been some good suggestions already though, so thanks all for those!

Given your wants - I'd suggest either Secrets or Xtasia - both about the same distance from you.

Best advice is browse the reviews pages, not to get a picture of the club, but to see who goes - and keep an eye on meet posts and status updates from people in the clubs vicinity. You can then get a feel for clientele and potentially drop folk a PM to say hi and arrange to meet there.

Even if you didn't find suitable company at either - you'd still have a good time.
