The other club forum is for event organisers and club owners to start threads for specific events. Anyone can then comment after that initial post.

This thread is for club visitors to discuss anything associated with clubs including those events.

I'm sorry... but "I'm going to "x" club on "x" night, is anyone going?" isn't in my eyes a discussion.....

But in others it IS.

Unless admin suggest otherwise.. those who dont like it will just have to accept it will continue to happen.

Sometimes those threads turn into further discussion about meeting in a bar before hand, hotel and taxi etc..

But the other forum is not the right place for that either

The title of the forum is Swinging Club Discussion...so anything that comes under that umbrella is valid.

The problem is that the event forum only allows for one event to be listed a week per username. Several clubs have lots of profiles and list several events a week, which is equally annoying as what some of you don't like about this group. If that rule could be changed on the event forum, you will find less events discussion on this group. Until that happens, club owners who are also swingers, will comment on threads to answer questions or chat about their own play experiences and punters will plug a club that they are going to, to increase the numbers for their own ends.

Not rocket science!

.... and then the bit straight after this is "discussion about clubs, NO Ads....."

and for me "I'm going to "X" club, on "X" night, is anyone else going" is an Ad telling people you are specifically going.........

O o O oo

From Admins point of view, posters discussing which clubs they are going to is not an advert.

If however club owners or their workers start those threads then as mods wont know who works for who ( except for the most obvious ) then report the post and let Admin check it out.

So people can't talk about going to a club in the swinging 'club' discussion forum?? That doesn't make sense does it? So if people want to discuss a certain club night, they are advertising?? I have recently commented on such a thread as the person had never been to the club...they weren't advertising, they were asking for advice on an event.

For those who say who is coming to 'x' event, they are generating discussion for an event they are going to 1/to see if it's worth their while going & 2/to gain support for the event to make it better for themselves. It happens all the time.

Again, if admin would change the limitations on the events forum, you would find less of this going on, but people are still entitled to start discussions on events they are going to! lol

For curiosity, why would that make a difference to this forum? You would still have two separate forums however many times you could advertise on the other one?

Yes it would make a huge difference. If we could list more events, then more info could be shared on the event, thus reducing the amount of questions on this forum. It would also allow people to jump on the threads to say they are going, again reducing the amount of people listing an 'are you going' threads

Ah I don't think that would stop the " are you going to such and such a club " threads as even when clubs put lists of who is going on threads people still start them in here.

It is probably so they don't clog up the event thread with chat

Isnt all the information about the event on the first post when posted anyway and any questions after that answered?

I never knew you could only post one event per week, that's rediculous admin definitely have to change that. As you say clubs have several events each week it makes no sense.

Then this forum can simply be for general club discussion.

Come on admin surely it can't be hard to rectify

Yes, all the info is in the first post, but for example, we have 5-7 events a week, but we can only list one. Unlike other clubs, we don't use other profiles to list our other events. So what I find is that the other 5-6 events that have not been listed, end up as discussions on here. Doesn't always happen, but has done and will continue to do so, which to some, comes across as adverts.

Hope that makes sense!!! lol

.....but the irony in this is that this is clogging up a chat thread with events.....

can i go back an use an example.... every year the closer that swingfields comes has come around in the past.... the more and more threads that start....

so what is basically being said is that if the organisers set up one in the right place.... then people going can get up 10 so long as they are not involved... which is what has basically happened in past years.....

I did suggest a solution that would free up spaces for new forums......

since the overseas ones are rearly used.... merge US,Canada,Australia and New Zealand and World Wide...

Call one... "Europe", another "Rest of the World".... and there you now have 3 new forum spaces... one that can be dedicated to these sorts of Club Meets.....

Got to say i dont actually get what the issue is ?? People post up about going to an event or club, they are acting within the rules and wanting to get an idea of who else is going etc wheres the problem with that ??

Personally think we are very lucky we can advertise and talk about our event full stop, it would be easy for Fab to not allow any advertising in whatever capacity at all, then we would all suffer.

Seems there are only 1 or 2 that have an issue with this and everyone else seems happy to just get on and discuss their plans or what clubs they are going to.

Concentrate on the good and that we are lucky to be able to see / discuss and comment about the UK club scene

Im all for free speech but the OCD part of me would just like posts to be in the right place
